I have multiple PC's with motherboards that have Q9650 as the maximum CPU, well the Q9550 is much cheaper and when looking at the comparison on CPU-world, the Q9550 is the less expensive CPU with very little difference from it's much more expensive Q9650. Best upgrade for your older boards for the least expense sounds good to me!
