The CPU arrived in 10 days, it was extremly fast. It was packed very well, and even thermal compound was included. After I installed it in my motherboard, the bios detected it just fine, and everything works perfectly. I am using it for a few weeks now, no problem whatsoever. It's a poweful old beast, capable of doing much work at stock speeds, but with a bit of overclock it's performance can be compared to the performance of much newer CPUs'. I love it. I recommend it to everyone who has a first generation i7 and is looking for a nice upgrade.

Best value 95W CPU for X58 motherboards i.e. LGA1366 socket. 6 cores, 12 threads, runs quite cool on stock with a bit better CPU cooler than Intel BOX one. OC's like a champ, even with basic X58 motherboard and decent heatpipe based or AIO CPU cooler at least around 4.2GHz is what you should expect at minimum, on average 4.3GHz to 4.4GHz most should get with OC and with better X58 boards 4.4GHz to 4.6GHz is quite doable without much effort. All of those stil running some 4c/8t 1st gen Core i7 on their beloved X58 motherboards should consider switching to this X5675 (or at least X5670), do some OC on it and enjoy few more years until X58 gets obsolete when DDR5 RAM arrives in 2022.

Great chip, easily performed at stock speeds better than my i7 920 Overclocked to 3.6ghz. Honestly so glad I made this upgrade, it overclocked to 4.2ghz easily and could push to 4.6 but that's not necessary. It runs great at 4.2 on 212 Evo cooler 30C idle and 70C stress test. It runs cooler & faster with the extra 2 cores and 4 threads allowing me to have a lot of applications running at the same time while playing a game. Highly recommend this chip, insane value for the money if you already have the x58 motherboard using a non xeon chip.

2017 review: Upgraded from a i7 930 stock-clock, and I managed to easily get my X5675 to 4Ghz with 65°C under load (watercooled). I probably could have sqeeze in more clock, but I already get 2x the benchmark score of my old 930. So yeah, this is still quite an awesome and up-to-date CPU.

First attempt to install processors in my HP Proliant ML350 failed with the server turning on but not booting even to BIOS. Did some research online and found that updating the BIOS might fix the problem. Found the latest BIOS available for the server and upgraded. Processors work great now!
