Ford dealer told me that all of the lug nuts on my Escape had to be changed. It is because Ford uses a hollow cap that is fitted over a nut. The cap gets chewed up quickly from removing tires for rotations, inspections, new brakes, new tires, etc. Also, water gets under these caps and causes them to swell, so a normal lug wrench will not fit. He said I don't want to get a flat tire on the road, and then need to have it towed in because no one can get a lug nut off. He quoted me a price to change them that was three times more than these McGard's. These McGard's are solid and fit perfectly! The dealer was just going to use the hollow cap Ford lug nuts again. I had these installed for free when I got my tires rotated. I just gave them to the auto tech, and he put them on after the rotation!
