Looked... for a new driver this fall and got on the launch monitor and tried out a number of the newest tools. I was looking for a lower ball flight and the ability to hit a straight or draw ball flight more consistently. I narrowed the tools down to several brand name drivers and consistently struck a baby draw with excellent distance with the Nike Covert Tour. It was much better than the standard Covert. The Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage silver shaft on the Tour model has consistently lower ball flight and the baby draw was easy to hit and dead on target line very consistently. The Kuro Kage black shaft on the standard Covert produced a ballooning ball flight for me and was almost always right of the target line. The adjustable ferrule on the Nike Covert is excellent. Easy to set face angle (closed to open) and loft (8.5-12.5) to adjust it for your swing or course conditions. The Covert Tour has good sound feedback when you hit it on the screws. A bit clinky sounding when you miss the sweet spot. I am a black paint driver lover but I can tell you I really like the candy apple red paint on the Nike. The finish is durable and beautiful too. One unexpected feature was the ball mark is pronounced on the black PVD face so you can easily see where you hit the ball in relation to the sweet spot. The Covert Tour is a fine driver and I highly recommend it. Try all flexes in the Kuro Kage shaft. I should use a stiff shaft (my swing speed is about 100), but bought a regular because I hit the ball farther and more accurately with it. You may find a longer-hitting driver but not one that is this adjustable and functional. Five stars for this great offering from Nike!
This is the driver to match the 3-wood that i have been u...sing off the tee. It feels great in my hands. It was delivered very quickly and in tiime for me to take it out tomorrow. I'm anticipating that the driver will give me a few more yards, the same yards I lost last year when I turned 68. Excellent service and delivered early!!

The 50 gram shaft was the biggest reason I starting loo...king for a Covert. The very first drive off the range was straight and (by my current history) long. The adjustment setup and design is easily the most versatile and very easy to change. Using the 10.5 with an open face and the ball just a little forward from center stance I consistently got a 'baby draw'. I think because of the shaft being so light I also found it pretty consistent in hitting fades. I'm currently playing to a 12 but first round out I shot a 79 with the Covert. Even at list price this is a good investment in the quality of your game. Find it on EBay for less makes it a true "no brainer" to get.
Th...is innovative approach to the driver head has a great advantage for looks and feel. However, getting distance and accuracy is about the same as other drivers. I'm certain that finding the right shaft is the key to loving this driver over all others. The red kura kage shaft in stiff or regular flex seemed to give me better results. Saying that, there isn't enough choice selections with the equipment. Also, the sleeve adapter isn't easy to find or replace, unless you have a great clubfitter. Overall, the Covert Tour is highly the better club. I rather have accuracy than distance anyway. "Keep it in the short grass."
I'm a strictly Callaway player. ...I decided to try this club because of a friend's experience and a Nike player. I normally hit my Callaway 260-280 yards. With this club I could swing easier and still make the same distance. When I would use my normal harder swing I am now consistently hitting 280-300 yards. My friend and I were using different shafts that came with the club, this did make control different, but the distance was consistent. the control for both clubs however, were easier to control then another club I have used to date. As long as you know your shaft flex to buy appropriately this club can make a huge improvement to your game. I'm a normal 10-12 handicap and this is dropping my approach shot distance which is improving my handicap. I was shooting around a 7 handicap before the winter came along to delay my playing.
