I just bought this Olympus Pearlcorder S702 microcassette recorder and love it. It is small, palm-size, and easy to use. I will be transcribing some family histories and this recorder will be very useful. As well, it will far more handy to carry than my larger full-size recorder.
I purchased this recorder so that I might be able to check the backlog of tapes from my phone answering machine without actually using the answering machine. The Olympus Pearlcorder S702 is so much faster and precise than the answering machine. And I'm not tied to the much bulkier and restrictive answerer. I'm also looking forward to using it as a note taker in my photography work. I love it!

I tried digital recorders but backing up and finding where you want to edit your throughts is too awkward with one of them, tape work better for me!
