Needed an HDMI switching receiver to replace my old sony ES pros: 5 hdmi inputs pre outs highly configurable great sound once calibrated (little bright initially) impressive sound stage and detail network controllable and configurable! video upscaling/processing up to 2 powered zones + main listening zone muuuch cheaper than current onkyo gear and does nearly everything but internet apps equal to the nr-807 minus 1 hdmi input bi-amp capable dlna audio suppport includes lossless! (flac and ogg) cons: no multichannel analog inputs, but who needs that anymore? the preouts are worth more minimal internet apps: no spotify or video services dlna support is only for audio setup interface is a bit clunky and slow to respond to input possible known failures on the hdmi board. additional active cooling should help comparison: this was originally a thousand dollar plus amp and it sounds like it. much better sound and configuration ability than newer receivers at less than five hundred dollars. this complements perfectly with other devices that do a better job of internet apps like xbox and ps3. this receiver rocks!Read full review
I found a good deal on this so I jumped on it right away. I'm happy with it and it works great. I just need some better speakers to go with it and I'll be in good shape.
