I bought this DVD player becuase I was going on a 8 days cruise and needed entertainment for my 3 year old. I like the small compact size size and the car attachment it comes with (havent tried it in the car as yet). Also, the picture quality is good and the sound is loud and clear. What I dont like about it, is if a DVD has a slight scratch it wont play it. Plus it lacked a remote. In addition, it DOESNT GIVE 4 HOURS PLAYBACK TIME. This was the main reason I purchase this brand. Very disappointed with this, becuase the one I got wont last a 3 hour flight! I would recommend base on the size and ease of transporting it from place to place and picture and sound quality.
I bought one for my 6 years old son and then couple month later exactly the same Panasonic for older son. Excellent player. Good quality picture, much better then Polaroid, Sony or Sharper Image DVD players. Battery life is outstanding. You can watch couple movies and still have some juice left. Also I love the easy in and out car headrest adapter - no straps or buckles, press two buttons and player snaps in place. My younger son prefers this small portable DVD to big screen TV... go figure. The only one thing I miss is remote control. I don't know why Panasonic did not include it with player, other then that this is great and very reliable player. Takes a lot of abuse from my 6 years old, I think he even drop it at least couple times.
So badly I want to give it excellent but I just cannot. The picture, only beat by Sony. The Craftsmanship also only beat by Sony. The price beat by none, along with the laundry list of features. Although the one and only reason I cannot give an excellent is due to the sound. Now, don't get me wrong, I do not expect my home theatre sound system in the back seat but I would think that at 1/2 volume the speakers would not drown out in bass. All around though it is a great purchase. I would buy it again, especially at the price offered. I bought it for the long car rides that we go on for my son to watch TV. Because God forbid, he entertain himself. Anyway back to the player. It is sharp looking and fits on the headrest perfect. Battery at 1/2 volume and highest brightness lasts about 2 hours. This is not bad especially considering how light the model is. Yes Sony beats picture quality, but doesn't begin to touch th price. Our car is very quiet on the road so volume does not have to be very loud but the noise it makes, makes it hard for me to concentrate on the news on the radio, but again just a tradeoff to make my son happy, I guess. It does not play blu-ray so that limits it some, and does not have an ipod jack. It does have an input and outputs to the car radio so you can hear Barney as loud as you would like if you wish to plug it in! LOL... The design is very modern and is pleasing to the touch. Its lid goes upward and downward and then will fold on itself like a tablet pc, but does not swivel. Not really a problem I think due to the large viewing angle of the screen. No matter what headrest it is on it displays well all across the backseat. It did not come with headphones, but they are cheap anyway. Also the carrying case it came with is extremely nice. More padding in that case than in my couch in college. But not bulky, smaller than my wifes purse. This unit is very light weight. Vibrates some, but really not noticeable once it is hung on a headrest. The carrying case also doubles as housing for those precious child pleasing DVD's. Also what I like is that when you turn off the unit and go shopping and come back and turn it back on, it goes back to playing where it left off. Not all units do this but I think it is kinda important especially if you have a hundred errands to run. Does not have remote, kinda a bummer, but again it really doesn't matter all I have to do is reach my hand over. Its not like I am going to watch an 8.5 inch screen 10 feet away. So overall, I would buy this item again and would refer it to a friend. It is a well built unit that I hope will last a long time, and my son will enjoy many hours of entertainment. Thanks for reading- Have a good day! :)Read full review
This DVD player works great, and looks great. I realy like the headrest bracket, and the included bag is handy. A remote control would have been a very nice feature, but I knew before purchasing that remotes are not available. The lack of a remote is not really a big deal to me. It would probably not have worked very well from the front seat of the vehicle anyway. I also liked the tree structured bowser for finding photos/videos/music f iles on home made discs. I have had very good luck with the longevity of Panasonic products in the past, so hopefully this device will be around for many hours of use as well. My 2 year old daughter absolutely loves watching Elmo while riding in the back seat. This was money well spent.
This dvd player is working out great so far. We purchased it for our 3 year old to watch her movies after she destroyed our last portable dvd player. Since it's pretty much exclusively used by her we weren't too concerned with picture or sound quality - just something practical that would withstand the abuse of a pre-schooler. So far so good. I especially love how easily it attaches to the car seat for long trips. Our last one was just a nylon bag with elastic straps to keep the screen up and it didn't work well at all. This one is so much better. I also like how the screen folds out and can be adjusted easily. I do wish it came with a remote and that the cord was longer since we keep it plugged into the wall most of the time. But this was a great value and it's working out great!
