If you dont know anything about this man, this is a good place to start, but just remember..hollywood can sometimes get it close and in this case touches lightly on what the man was really like! This movie should inspire you to get up and do the right thing, be a real human and get off your #%@ and get something done, make something of yourself. His sayings and methods bare repeating, except for the language which in ths movie is so cleaned up compared to the real George Patton it would be considered sunday school material...ie when it was noted that an open Bible was seen in His room should we believe that He was actually reading it, stated...every G D day. On the other hand believed a soldiers morality vital to win the battle. I think this should be required material for highschool seniors. The only statement He made I cant agree with, is the one about the words we speak not having an effect on our success...His words about the russians certainly brought about his demise, as a General who ended up being removed from his command. If he kept his mouth shut, He could have been the one to claim Japan as His trophie. This movie should encourage you to research his total biography.Read full review

this movie is a true classic and i am very pleased that i got it for my husband on dvd, so now it will not dry out and distort like many older vhs tapes do..this movie will transport you to a time of war and struggle long ago..it is very true to life and George C. Scott portrays Patton in a truly remarkable and believable way...it will carry you thru times of fear, and harm and courage of our great nation...i recommend this movie for anyone that enjoyed it many years ago when it came out..and for anyone doubting the true foundation that our Great Country is built on today.. AMERICA...LAND OF THE FREE...BECAUSE...OF THE BRAVE.....baby-doll
George C. Scott plays General Patton in a World War II drama. The sets,on location filming, and dialogue make this one of the top ten war movies ever made. Scott is a very credible Patton and delivers many of Patton's speeches with the gruff factual and patriotic persona of the General. The film has a sprinkling of WW II actual footage which is skilfully integrated into the film without causing noticeable back and forth images. I purchased a copy for myself because of its historical accuracy and realism.I also never tire of watching George C.Scott's incredible talent. Five Stars...........
