It has what the new receiver has, without the HDMI or component connections. Having the standard composite, optical audio, and coax audio. It also has the ability to utilize your dvd surround system you bought, thinking it's a receiver! Plug your dvd player and its pre-outs into the receiver and then your packaged speakers into the receivers speaker connections (may have to separate the wire for some setups), and you have a 5.1 surround sound setup. It even offers a midnight mode and remote. Not bad at all for a 400 watt receiver, and they say technology is ever changing ... this was prime in its time.
bought at a good price used on ebay.this is one of the few recievers that came with a remote.it is use now in my frontroom while my harmon kardon & dennon recievers just sit because they are so complicated and bulky to use.it has nice features and easy setup and sounds fine.i recommend this unit for anyone who just wants to enjoy music and not have to deal with a bunch of bells&whistles that are moor for show than function.
If you looking for a moderately priced receiver to do what it's supposed to do this is all you need. All inputs & outputs you'll need for normal hookups. Every movie is different the way it's recorded in surround. It may not be a true 80 watts per 5.1 channel but I usually have mine set at 30 to 35 volume for excellent results. More than loud enough at that setting. If your not concerned with rattling the windows you can't beat this receiver.
