the strings look real pretty,,,,,,,,, all shiney and stuff ....... but when tension is applied to tune the strings.... using a clip on guitar tuner,,,,,,,,,, the 6th string Ë"string would break between D# and E every single time........ I bought 5 sets of the strings and broke all 5 E strings 6th string that is. It is hard for me to believe that Yamaha had anything to do with making these strings. it is hard to believe that they are this crappie. buyer beware get what you pay for. this is bottom drawer stuff for sure. I was taught if I can't say something good about something or someone it is best to say nothing at all. So with that said I will sign off now.

I teach free lessons at my church as a ministry outreach. Of course students never bring extra strings and usually have a broken string or 2. I always keep these on hand for my students as replacement strings so they don't have to miss a class for lack of a string. For the price these are decent strings and sound pretty good, even on some of the very basic starter guitars and flea market finds used by my students. I find if the strings are tuned light they sound the best and last the longest, and don't put too much stress on the guitars. Can't go wrong for the price. I usually buy 'em 10 at a time and always keep several on hand. Example, Here's a repair on a donated guitar. Had a broken neck and no strings. It was going to end up in the trash, but I got the guy to donate it instead. I repaired the neck, put a set of these strings on it, now it plays and sound great. I'll give it to a student who can't afford a guitar. The Lord works in wonderful ways. My repair and $1.00 for a set of stings and a young person will learn to play the guitar with it. OUTSTANDING.Read full review

These strings sounded like I had rubber bands on my guitar. One broke before it would even tune. I have learned not to buy strings off the internet anymore. they are about the poorest quality I have seen. I have been playing in a band 20 years

Nice strings! I'm building my new guitar 1 piece at a time and I chose these strings. I've got a guitar neck ordered next. Then tuners.....(you know...that will match the neck) What color should I dye my hair when I learn how to play?
