I originally decided to buy the Sims after playing "The Urbz, Sims in the City" on XBox, which was a lot of fun. I only played the game for about an hour, or at least tried to, before I realized it was a waste of both my time and my money. You have to spend far too long "greening" up your sim, and cleaning up after his/her dirty messy mother to do anything else that is essential to keep the game plot moving. All my time was spent keeping my sim somewhat close to happy, and cleaning the pig sty her mother created... and all the while the game is telling me to get a job? Oh, right... did I mention that I was also expected to fix the TV, and the sink as well as a few other things also? Yeah, just one more thing to take away from being able to enjoy the game even slightly. I think they got it somewhat right with "The Urbz", but the original sure leaves a whole lot to be desired. For those of you who like a challenge however, this game sure is for you. I hope you also have no social life whatsoever and ample time (ie: don't work) to waste upon playing this game, because it is like running in a hamster wheel, you go go go, and don't get anywhere. I also have the Sims 2, and am much much happier with it, and even enjoy it more than the Urbz. Hope this sheds some light on this game for those who want to be in the know. Happy gaming!Read full review
Just like I remember it. Couldn’t beat it 17 years ago. Can’t beat it now. (Gameplay is difficult in story mode) Graphics are what you expect from 2003.

The Sims for xbox ps2 and gamecube, best sims ever. Love this game so much. The music, the old graphics, the sound effects and that weird talking.
