The premise of the storyline was good. The graphics are good. The gameplay is great. Trust you me there is nothing I enjoy more than sitting in an almost completely invisible position, taking aim on on an unsuspecting enemy and quietly turning his lights out and hearing his body hit the ground!! (Yes I am in therapy, ok) But, with that in mind the game is very dark, so you play almost the entire game with your night vision goggles on. The controls are slightly difficult, but if you are a fan of Splinter Cell titles you should already know that they are never easy. Finally, my biggest problem with this game is that it is just too short!! I took it down in less than 4 hours total gameplay. I enjoyed this game I just wish it was a little more intense than it is, but its worth a twirl.
Game works, packaging AOK & booklet provided , just as advertised. thx. One of my all time favorite games is Splinter Cell. Essentials was only game not played so decided to get this even though I don't touch my PSP, but now I have the game bought at a great price.

I bought Splinter Cell Essentials because I loved all the other Splinter Cell games. It is for PSP so you can play the game anywhere! The graphics are good and you still know all the stealth moves as in the PS2 Splinter Cell games. There are a couple new weapons too. The camera system was bad because you had to hold the O button and turn the camera with the analog stick. This made looking around a room hard plus combat was tougher with the camera system. Nonetheless, it's a good game and and Splinter Cell fan should get this game. (Of, course you need a PSP!)
I guess it would be a little biased for me to be writing this review since I have been a Tom Clancey fan for as long as I can remember. I have read most of his novels and seen their screen adaptations and must add, you cant cram everything in a book into a movie. Splinter Cell Essentials captures the four preceding games into Essentials with some scenes being familiar but with a different game play. Playing the game on PSP proves to be a little difficult to master after the first four games were released on PS2. The controls were something to get used to but once the just of it has been mastered, the movements, selection of weapons and execution of manoeuvres became as fluid as using the PS2 joystick. Sam Fisher, being on the run, tries to figure out what has happened. There seem to be some blanks in the game but if you are familiar with the storyline, characters and previous missions, everything falls into place. Unless you prefer the Ghost Recon game play or the search and destroy format, Splinter Cell Essentials lives up to its predecessors as far as excitement is concerned. If you however just want to walk through a town, shooting everything that moves, then this game would not be suited for you. Stealth and a range of new weaponry makes the game worth the effort of playing it on PSP but with the TV cables connected, the game lives up to Ubisoft's high standard.Read full review
Game is broken . Period . Why sell a broken game . No I'm not sending it back because I shouldn't have to go all out my way just to fix a problem that's shouldn't have been a problem. Simple request. Couldn't fulfill.
