This was a great improvement from the Hard-drive I had. It needs a recovery disk in order to work, so have that ready. Once I got Vista on it, I was amazed with the performance. I had an 80gig Hard drive years ago, & vista bacame very slow after awhile. I got a new laptop in 2008 with a 250 gig Hard drive & it performed much better. However it had trouble with 1080 video files. After a few years I upgraded the 250g with this 500g & saw an immediate performance change for the better. I can now play 720 video files & some 1080 files, but still has problems with 1080. I have had it for a few months and am very glad with this Toshiba Hard Drive.
I love Toshiba brand. I have had nothing but good use out of Toshiba products. This hard drive, which replaced a Seagate 120GB 2.5 drive, is no exception. A lot more storage space for my data wether it be music, videos, games, or what ever you collect. The drive is reliable and very easy to install. The price was also a plus. You can't go wrong with Toshiba as they have been around a long time and their reputation is well known among computer builders. They know their stuff and it shows in their products.

I have used this product in my computer since when I get it. It is on my computer right now. I am writing this preview through my computer that used this product. I bought it because my last HD is damaged. I found this (new HD) has reasonable price according its volume. I like Toshiba company and my laptop from Toshiba so I bought this HD. The pervious HD was from another company. The performance of this HD is excellent. Also, I bought this HD because I found some others with 20GB and more expensive than this where it 500 GB with about 35$.
I bought the 500GB hard drive because I want to upgrade the one I have and it works great. What I like most of all about it is it comes with all the most recent software like Lion and Office 2011. So far i have no dislikes and I would purchase another if it has the same features I need.
