This was the album that turned a little known jazz/pianist/singer from New Orleans into a household name and brought back the big band sound to a whole new generation. Many bands tried to duplicate Harry Connick, Jr.'s successful sound from this album, but many, including the Royal Crown Revue, and others, came up well short. This album is a must have for any lover of, what Harry calls "retro" music. One of the top albums of the 1990's by far. If you don't have it, get it.
This was the CD that introduced me to Harry Connick, Jr. offically. This CD made me a huge fan of his. I now own most of his CDs and all because of this one. His talent blew me a way. And the funny thing is that, at the time, I was not in any way into this type of music. Harry changed all that.
GREAT ALBUM, ONE OF HIS BEST IN MY OPINION. SHOWS HIS WIDE RANGE VOCAL ABILITIES.ALSO RECCOMENED BLUE LIGHT/RED LIGHT.
If you like good/excellent music, you cannot help but like Harry Connick and the way he presents/arranges/delivers his music. The man simply rocks you.
