Not to much to say about this particular hard drive. I bought it for an old Pentium 3 system thats motherboard couldn't recognize hard drives over 30 GB. I gave it a rating of average only because in the computer world this hard drive is quite a bit on the small size. However, if you are in a position like me where you need a smaller hard drive for an older PC, you can't beat these old WDCs. Good reliable hard drive for the price.
This hard drive was easy to install and works great. I bought it because I needed a larger hard drive for windows vista. It was also compatible with an old Compaq Presario 5BW120 32 bit computer that was running windows 98 previously. I have had difficulty finding compatible hardware for this computer and was "advised" to buy directly from Hp.I would buy the Western Digital again.
Hard disc came ready to install,very easy switch-over and no problems.Took programs without balking or slowing down.Have been using every day (12 to 14 hrs)with no signs of slowing or corruption.Well pleased with the purchase and would do again.
Works exactly as it should. Good transfer rate. I was looking for enough storage capacity for a really old computer and this product fit the bill at a good price - $0.75 / gigabyte.
installed very quickly, fits standard case well. using as primary drive for windows XP and programs. works well with drives from other vendors. liked the diagram for jumpers easy setup.
