The tool worked just fine but would have worked better if there were instructions. All the bearings looked to be good quality and fit nice as did the seal but they sent the wrong type of grease. They should have sent marine grease. All the YouTube videos I watched had marine grease in the video which makes sense since this is supposed to seal out water. The grease that was in the kit looked like a food based grease which would work if you were able to reapply it every 3-4 months. I'm not going to tear it down to regrease it ever. Tool looked brand new with a warning that it could not be sent back since now it would be a used tool? Whatever that means.

did not fit correctly, i could not get the shaft all the way threw the bearing, every time it started to go in, the bearing got tight, i had to take the shaft where the bearing rides and grind it down, till the bearing slide down the shaft with out any trouble, then i got it all together and working. it now makes a different sound. .its working. will see how long it last? the first original bearing lasted 3 years, had it replaced by a repair place and it only lasted less then 2 years. i am a mechanic and work on cars and trucks, i watched the repair man do it. and it was simple to do. plus i watched a step by step instructions on you tube. but the bearing and shaft would not fit together. the video says to give the shaft a slight hit down threw the bearing. but when i did ? the bearing got tight and would not spin. the installing tool worked great. not sure where bearing and shaft where made. so if it does not last again? i will try another source. the video says to make sure this weep hole is clear? but it looks to me like when you install the upper seal? it blocks the weep hole. so time will tell?Read full review

Rather than a box of parts, I received a soft sided mailer envelop with everything loosely inside.....hmmm. Packaging on the tool says cannot return if opened... and I opened it. I have done this job 3 times and the second time on this washer. I smelled a rat when I found the bottom bearing press was very tight going into the inside diameter (ID) of the bottom bearing. I put the shaft in the freezer to help shrink it. I installed the bearings and the bottom press stuck inside the bottom bearing so I had to knock it out. Tried installing the new shaft and it won't go all the way thru the bottom bearing even with a 3lb hammer. So my kit did not contain the correct lower bearing to fit the shaft, but yes I opened the kit so I cannot return it. The "sealant" that comes thru is a generic package the says its the "original super glue". Kind of cheap and I would have used RTV if the shaft installed correctly. I went and purchased a new washing machine (old style) to remove this problem going forward. I opened the so I can't return it, my responsibility. Sorry, but I can't recommend this particular kit to anyone looking to do the same job.Read full review

The jet noise my washer was making, like it was taking off, is no more. One of the old bearings I pulled was rusted and stuck, which explains the noise. The tool that came with this, made seating the bearings easy; keep tightening till you feel it sit, you'll hear a small pop and feel a jerk. With this tool, less frustrations. Only complaint, no instructions with this, but lots of videos on youtube, so no problems. Other note, if your washer has the green tabs on the back, the putty knife popping the tabs will not work. Undo the green clips in back, slide forward and lift. If your washer needs these types of bearings, get the tool!!!

It took a while, since I had not previously done this repair myself, while working very carefully; however, it was worth every bit of the effort, and I was also able to clean and lube my appliance thoroughly, during the disassembly. Our Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washing Machine, model: WTW8200YW0, now sounds as good as new, since the 3 tub bearings have each been replaced, which made the appliance run quietly again without the serious leaks. The repair would not have been possible for me without the Bearing Replacement Tool, which is contained within the repair kit, to press each of the bearings and the bearing shaft into its' proper place. Additionally, I did the Whirlpool Washer Diagnostic Test upon completion of the repair to ensure that it would function correctly, and it did; so I learned some things that were worth the time and saved money doing the repair myself, which boosted my self-confidence, as a Do-It-Yourselfer. The repair kit contained everything I needed to make the repair properly, and it was worth every penny ! Read full review
