Choosing a username
A username is the unique name you use to identify yourself on eBay and is seen by other eBay users. Your username is displayed when you buy or sell on eBay or communicate with other members. Other members can't see your real name or other personal information.
When you register on eBay, we'll automatically assign you a username. If you'd like to create your own username, go to My eBay, click the Account tab and go to Personal Information. After that, you can change your username only once in a 30-day period.
Creating a valid username
Valid usernames must be at least 6 characters in length. Your username can only include letters, numbers, periods, asterisks, underscores, or dashes. As you type in a possible username, we'll provide suggestions of what's available.
You can use either your email address or your username to sign in to eBay. If you choose your own username, pick one that you like and will remember. Since other members will see it, we recommend you not include your real name or other personal information in your username.

Creating eBay Store names
Store names are another form of identification on eBay. You have more flexibility in creating eBay Store names. For example, spaces and symbols (such as &) are allowed in Store names. However, Store names must otherwise follow the same guidelines and restrictions as other usernames.
