The Jackson guitar company was named after its founder, Grover Jackson. It has been on the music scene since the 1980s and was originally known for making instruments used by heavy metal bands. Several electric guitars and basses are widely available, including higher-end custom models, signature models, and more standard pieces.

The guitar features a neck-thru design. Other features include the following:

• It has a pointed head-stock and thin, maplewood neck with 24 jumbo frets.
• It can come with an alder or basswood body and an ebony or rosewood fingerboard.
• It features either an active or passive pickup design.
• Standard features include a volume knob, a tone knob, and a pickup switch.

• Pro Series DK3QM: This Dinky has a JB TB-4 humbucking bridge pickup. It has a master volume control, and you can use the five-position blade switch for more precise controls. The guitar has a one-piece bolt-on maple wood neck with hand-rubbed urethane gel back finish and 24 jumbo frets.
• JS Series JS32-7Q: This seven-string Dinky model with a rosewood fingerboard and tobacco burst design features piranha inlays, die-cast tuners, and a direct-mount Jackson HT-7 hard-tail bridge. Scale length is 26.5 inches.
• JS Series Arch Top JS32TQ: This archtop electric guitar in colors such as transparent black, red, or blue has a quilt maple wood top, bolt-on maple speed neck with graphite reinforcement, and pearloid sharkfin inlays. The pickups have ceramic magnets and three-way blade switching.

Rhoads electric guitars have sharp angles like the Gibson Flying Vs. These Jackson guitars can come in white, black, or other colors. Some guitars in this line are:

• Pro Series RRTMG: This guitar looks like the Flying V. It uses two active EMG humbucking pickups — an 81 and an 89.
• JS Series JS32: It has a poplar body and maple speed neck. It uses a double-locking tremolo bridge and sealed die-cast tuners. You can choose from an ivory, satin gray, or black finish.
• USA Select RR1T: Similar to a Flying V, this one also a V-shaped body, with one point coming down further than the other. It has CTS Pots and Switchcraft Switches.

• A solid rounded body with a neck-thru joint and ebony fretboard.
• Body made out of alder or mahogany and Soloist neck made out of maple or mahogany.
• A variety of finishes for a custom look, including black, quicksilver, natural, and cherry sunburst.
