After receiving the coin, I brought it to a coin dealer in NYC and sure enough it was not real: it was a gilt copper replica. The seller gave me a full refund, and for this I do not leave a negative review. However, be warned: the certificate of authenticity references a business with no website and the QR code links to WeChat. He continues to sell so-called solid gold Kanishka coins that clearly show the the gilding wearing off. Proceed with caution and verify everything.
