It was shipped in the original box which was packed in bubble wrap and covered in water proof plastic. It was labeled as fragile. It arrived in perfect condition.     Item described as new in box. Seller next time please place my purchase in a shipping box as the box came a long way to Long Island, New York and box got crushed in the shipping. Luckily, the item survived but not new anymore. Dept 56 makes quality items and are collector pieces.
