Great lock better price!

The August Smart lock gen 3 is amazing, I have the Pro on the front door and I I didn't need the same features I opted for the Gen 3 one. This installed on my locks in under 15 mins, I put batteries (supplied) in heard a beep and than began setup.

Setup is though the App on iOS or Android (only thing I didn't like no Win support). I would like to sit at my computer in the office and unlock the doors without touching the phone. Other wise this was easy. The only tough part about setup is placing the sensor in the door jam vs 3m taping it onto the outer seal. You must use a wood bit and drill slowly ( make sure it's going in strait although the vid walks you through it)

As for the APP setup it was pretty quick (blue tooth does have issues though) I connected the app setup and account and than connected the App to the smart lock bluetooth. The setup BT on my GS8+ took 2 tries as the lock initial firmware is buggy. But once I connected before I could do anything it auto downloaded the proper firmware and loaded it on the lock. This was great!

Once the lock was set up I can auto lock the door so if I am outside walking it will auto lock (Always have your phone with you or a key). But other wise this works so well. You can hook it up to a connector that allows WiFi remote connection but you must have 1 connector per lock at 70+dollars so I only did the front door as said prior).

When the battery's get low a beep occurs and it notifies me on the phone! The app can be buggy sometimes but this is a new tech so I won't hold the APP over the lock. As for manual opening the door it is smooth and fast and with the proper setup you get an alert every time this happens. This can be annoying but I like audit logs. All and all I must say this is a smooth lock with great features for a price us average Joe's can afford and best of all you don't have to change your Deadbolt front face/hardware.
