DS and Spirit Tracks

Of course, the Nintendo DS Lite is a great handheld system: duel screens, one being a touch screen, long battery life, WiFi multi-player capability. Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks must be really great, because I can't make my daughter part with it so I can try it out myself. :-/ It seems to be a sequel to Phantom Hourglass with similar game play and characters. Puzzles, side quests, the main mysterious story line; all typical of Zelda games. Any fan will enjoy this...as much as my daughter...and won't share it with anyone else. :-/ I'd recommend Nintendo DS Lite and just about any Legend of Zelda game to everyone.Read full review...

Great to add to my collection! Love the GBA slot!

I bought this product because I'm a huge Legend of Zelda fan and this DS is perfect to show some fan love. Being a pokemon fan as well, allowed me to play pokemon GBA games as well. The features are so clean and is so easy to use. I like it better than the new DS's like the xl or 3ds because it allows me to play older games like Pokemon Sapphire or Pokrmon FireRed.Read full review...

An excellent system

When it comes to handheld nintendo systems, I think that this one is pretty high up there. My all time favorite of them is the SP, but this is actually better than the SP in certain respects. The backlight is adjustable to conserve battery life, there's a headphone jack, and it's faster charging. And then there are all the things that make it the DS-the touch screen, etc. From what I've seen, this is a great improvement over the original DS, though I can't compare it to the DSi which I don't own. The size is good and there are good accessories out to help protect it if you're afraid of scratches or whatnot (and it doesn't make it too big either, it still fits in my pocket!). All in all, I'm very happy with the system and I think that it's a great choice, especially if you like your GBA games (which the DSi can't play) as well as the DS ones!Read full review...

Runs perfectly and great addition to any Zelda and Video Game collection

Works like any you would expect in a DS lite system. Great color and design for any Zelda fan and great potable system for anyone who is looking to do a little gaming on the go.

Overall, the DS Lite is the best of the DS models.

The Nintendo DS Lite is my one of my favorite game consoles of all time (second only to my old N64, we go way back). I love the shape and the aesthetic properties of the console, and the fact that it has backwards-compatibility with GBA games is just excellent.

This particular model of the DS, the collector's edition Legend of Zelda in gold, was the best gift I ever received at Christmas. I'm such a huge fan of the Legend of Zelda that thinking about it raises my blood pressure. The gold paint and the simple Triforce on front of the console are more beautiful to me than the beginning of life. I may be getting a little carried away here, but in short I really love this system.

This particular system was in really good shape and functioned perfectly when I purchased it; unfortunately, the original one I'd gotten for Christmas had a broken charge port and I couldn't afford to get it fixed immediately. While it sat on the shelf as I saved money, when I returned for it the thing was missing, and I was deeply depressed about this. I was so excited to buy this new one, which was a fantastic deal for the price. It came to me used, but it looked brand new. It was in better condition than mine had been.

The selection of games isn't very good for any of the DS systems, the problem being that Nintendo is pumping systems out too fast (a new one every year it seems, each worse than the last) and not enough games are being made in that short timespan. The Legend of Zelda games released were disappointing, as were the new Pokemon games. Two games I will recommend are Rune Factory and its sequels and Etrian Odyssey and its sequels. They're a lot of fun.

Overall, the DS Lite is the best of the DS models (in my opinion, the others didn't bring much to the table and lacked backwards-compatibility). I would buy it again if I needed to and I plan to one day introduce it to my children, just as my parents introduced me to Nintendo.

Make others Jealous with your DS Lite!

This particular DS Lite is no different than your standard DS Lite, except for the shell. The shell is a metallic dust gold with the tri-force inscribed on the top cover. It was released with the Zelda title: Phantom Hourglass and is extremely limited and rare. Yes, you can buy a clip on protective case, or get a stick-on skin and have a Zelda themed DS for a little less money, but to own this collector’s edition really shows what a die-hard fan you are. I receive endless comments and complements on this DS when out and playing it. So few people know of its release that they have never seen it until mine and they grow jealous, and I, proud. It works and handles great, just like every other DS Lite, but I would suggest investing in a protective carrying case, so that you do not scratch or damage the collector's case while traveling with it, but still leaving it naked for the whole world to appreciate it.
I love this DS and would never even THINK of upgrading to a DSI unless there was a Zelda edition, in which case this baby would simply hold a special place in my heart and shelf. Otherwise, this DS Lite and I are in for the long haul together.

You should own one, from travel to break time, well worth the money.

Excellent product and the best portable to come out thus far. Huge library of addicting titles. It's even backwards compatible. It's amazing how much support this system has/had. As of writing this the 3DS has been out for a month and has been unable to tempt me into buying it. This is my 4th or 5th DS and i cant get enough of them. I have owned the launch DS, 2 DS lites, and a DSI XL. I bought this one for the collect ability and because the DS lite is no longer being sold new. In regards to my past DS consoles the original launch one became obsolete when the lite came out so i bought it. That one along with all my games was stolen and so i replaced it. The DSI XL was an impulse buy which in retrospect wasn't the best due to lack of GBA game support, but its bigger display is worth it. In total the DS lite was the pinnacle of nintendo handhelds and if you don't own one, what's wrong with you?Read full review...

Awesome product! GR8 value for your money!

Bought this as a "refurbished" item. Basically, I just bought a brand new game console, and of course it's gold colored...Legend of Zelda...

I bought this because my latest one went in the fritz...well, the charger did anyway so I purchased the one I wanted right from the start, except now I just paid less! Everything on it ie: the hinges the buttons the stylus are "tight" & work wonderfully! The screens are immaculate! I did try one thing that didn't work...that was to put a screen protector on the bottom screen & to me, it was worthless! Didn't stick very well at all! I'm not saying that it didn't stick mind you, I'm saying it didn't stick very well! So, I just took it off & threw it away! That's it...Everything on this DS Lite is PERFECT! I'll give it 11 out of 10 stars!

My DS.

I love the design, and how quickly it got here. It is easy to carry around no matter where we are going, and the games are small enough that I can keep them in a little box in my pocket so we have them at all times. I love using a touch screen, though it is definitely a new thing to adjust to after playing all of the old style Nintendo games. I decided to buy it because my children both have Nintendo DS Lites and often want me to participate in their games with them. I have a lot of fun with it and am glad that I made the decision to do so.Read full review...
