Marillion's defining release

This is a brilliant album by Marillion.

It's a very deep and somewhat dark album, and that makes it all the more wonderful. The music ebbs and flows, and are just awesome. Hits like 'The Damage', 'You're Gone' and 'Don't Hurt Yourself' are simply brilliant. Songs like 'Angelina' and the four 'Marbles' songs are even better live, and show how the band can adapt their material on stage yet still keeping it concise and clear.

The packaging is not as great however. The book is hardcover, and holds the two CDs nicely, however the pages seem to want to come out, so you have to be a bit careful.

Regardless, get this album. No matter if you only liked Fish, or love Hogarth, or have never heard Marillion before - this, I think, is their most definitive release so far. It's simply brilliant.Read full review...
