Great quality Pair of Sai
To my pleasant satisfaction, this pair of sai is made of 1045 carbon steel as opposed to a cheap stainless steel. It is nice length of 21 inches from the tip to the pommel. My previous pair that I practiced with was 19 inches long and was of cheaper steel. The combination of this pair's steel-type and length was an upgrade in terms of handling. It absorbs impact well and is well-balanced.
A big plus about this pair is the way the handle's wrap is done. Rather than only wrapping around the handle, it cross-wraps around the center point at the top of the handle. This provides the benefit of preventing the wrapping from unraveling at the top. Additionally, the material (faux leather) feels sturdy and doesn't feel like it could shred easily in my opinion.
Another nice feature is the black finish on the entire body. It is a great aesthetic alternative to the plain standard steel appearance. My pair arrived with a couple of small paint chips; however, I am not surprised due to this being a common factory result. It's not significant factor that detracts from overall quality in any way though.
In the end, if you are looking for pair of sai to practice with, I definitely recommend this.
(Remember: this pair does not have a sharp tip.)

Bad Description still good product
Not octagon, these are round. Which is fine for me. The weight and balance are both good.
