Benro MAD38A Adventure Series 3 Aluminum Monopod

The monopod I've been waiting for

I first tried Benro monopods at Samy's in Culver City, and I really liked them. I wanted a monopod that was fairly light weight, could handle a DSLR and medium weight zoom lens and that could use both a wide, stable monopod foot or a 3-foot monopd base that would enable free standing. Benro told me that this monopod, which has a removable wide foot that would also allow me to attach the 3-foot base, so this is the one I got.

And I'm very happy with it. This monopod is a good price for the quality and fulfills all of my requirements. I don't need carbon fiber because even my heaviest lens isn't that heavy, and this aluminum model doesn't flex at all with my set-up. It fits my tripod heads, and with the 3-foot base, it can stand (attended) without my assistance, and it also bends at the feet while with the wide foot it came with, it's a little more stable than a rounded or pointed base.Read full review
