A simple fix for a less than you would expect

Having a hearing deficit I was looking for ways to make my old Dread naught louder. My guitar is a well made good quality acoustic guitar (dreadnaught) Spruce top mahogany back and sides, Although it is imported it is a very well made. I added a fishman pickup system but still wanted to play it acoustically and did some checking into ways to make the acoustic louder, Not everyone can afford a Bourgeois Banjo KIller known for thier robust volume, So I looked at adding a sound hole to the upper bout and decieded otherwise for obvious reasons, Then I came upon the Planet waves O-port and thought Hmm this could work but was skepticle at first until seen the difference on a graph prooving it indeed will make a acoustic louder the question was will it work for me. I then looked for the best price I could find at $20.00 MSR I tought was a bit much for a piece of plastic but began to understand after I received it that it was a very well engineered and high quality which fit my acoustic sound hole perfectly. Not a well made product

This item did not come with directions so I reviewed a video on YouTube. Following the YouTube instructions, I folded the bottom ring in to fit it into the sound hole. When I did that, the ring split completely in half from top to bottom. The volume is a bit louder with the product installed but the sustain is not improved any. Not sure it’s worth the effort the money or the effort to install it.Read full review...

Worth trying

Frankly, I was a skeptic. Thought it was a gimmick. But upon testing it I notice increased volume, but more importantly better string definition in my all solid wood Dreadnaughts .
