Pennywise will scare you in HD

Tim Curry shines in his role as Pennywise the Clown. The acting is excellent for a made for TV movie, but some of the more complicated practical effects are lackluster.

Originally it was split into two parts on TV: The children's story and the adults, but is one three hour presentation now.

There are a lot of frightening scenes and many people say they became scared of clowns due to this film.

Overall, it's an excellent version of Stephen King's IT and is in some ways better than the 2017/2019 remakes, certainly a more faithful adaptation of the characters.

Would strongly recommend for Tim Curry's performance alone.

Blu-Ray is presented in 1:33:1 (4:3) aspect ratio, which is how it was originally filmed. Previous DVD releases were matted widescreen, cutting off some of the top and bottom of the frame to fit 16:9 screens.
