250 Sheet 2nd Tray Assembly

Very easy to install and use to double the paper supply to 500 sheets but a little tricky to configure using different paper in the 2 trays.

Second Tray

The tray works fine; wasn't hard to set up; HP instructions I found online were a little clunky and were not correct; that may be the cause of my issues with the second paper tray.

The biggest disappointment is that from my print menu i cannot select Tray 1 or Tray 2. The print menu assumes there is only one tray in the printer. If Tray 1 runs out of paper, the printer will use the paper in Tray 2, so if I want to print directly from Tray 2, I have to empty Tray 1 or pull it out of the printer; I had an HP 7600 that had a second tray, and i was able to Select either tray from the print menu; you cannot do that with this tray; there may be a software update that I am not aware of but i can't spend all my time being a systems manager; i have to actually produce some work. We are keeping it, but will be carefull how we purchase in the future.

The tray was broken from removing it from a previous machine. I was under the illusion that it was new. It also opens hard as it is dragging somewhere inside itself.
