The convenience of wireless charging is great, but comes with a couple of issues: 1) the battery pack temperatures while charging are much higher than with wired charging. It is probably within safe limits, but might be a concern for extra wear on the battery. 2) I could not get this pad to charge through several different cases. It works fine with just the bare phone back, but even the thinnest of case-covers seems to add enough distance or physical barrier to allow the charger to lock in and charge. I don't want to remove the cover each time just to charge as it defeats the convenience of using wireless, so I'm back to wired charging.Read full review...

Odd connectors

What would possess a company to use nonstandard 5vdc connectors on both ends of the device. Planned to use these in my car, fat chance . You need to let people know befor they buy, live and learn. Bought others that are standard USB works great.Read full review...

Robust and Reliable Wireless Charging, Qi Standard Nokia DT-900 Charging Plate

I bought this to charge my Qi standard wireless phones. I've used several DT-900 over the last three years in black, red, white and cyan. They have all worked flawlessly over that time with the exception of the cyan DT-900. This morning when I checked my phone was not charged, the DT-900 LED was off and the charging plate was quite warm to the touch.

The Pros:

§ Simple to use. Plug in the AC adapter, connect it to the charging plate with the CA-211 cable, place the Qi standard wireless charging device on the plate and watch for the LED to glow solid.

§ Silent - unless you've got your phone set give audible notifications this is a silent process.

§ Audible alerts - set your phone to have audible notifications and you will receive notice when:
» charging is complete
» charging is initiated

§ Visual alerts to let you know when:
» charging is complete (LED goes dark)
» charging is in progress (LED constant)
» charging is in error state (LED blinks)

§ Large "sweet spot" for placing the device to get connected. Based on my tear down of the unit that failed there are three substantial, copper coils that occupy almost the entire resting surface of the plate.

§ Solid construction. The charging plate will not separate into its component pieces if dropped.

§ Reliable charging. I've had a single unit, out of many, go bad, otherwise it was worry free charging.

The Cons:

§ The CA-301 AC adapter is large, it could occlude two additional outlets on a power strip.

§ The power port on the CA-301 and the DT-900 is a proprietary design, a coaxial ~2mm diameter hollow pin that is not the same as the Nokia pin chargers. Good luck finding a non-Nokia aftermarket replacement or trying to acquire the parts to make your own. Replacement CA-211 are available but a bit pricey for what they are.

§ The CA-211 cable is male/male. The male ends are not as robust as I would like. I've had instances of bent pins.

§ The LED is bright, I usually put something in front of it when charging the phone at night in the bedroom.

I've given this a 5 star rating because it does what it is supposed to do almost all the time. My nit-picking of design details in no way indicates this is not a really functional item. It could be better.Read full review...

Works great with our Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL phones. The charging coils on the "standing" version don't align with the Lumia 950 XL phone, so we use the Lumia 950 with the "standing" one and we use the "laying down" version with the Lumia 950 XL. Great performance

This one works far better than any other I've bought. I have four or five other Qi chargers. I even have a "bare" one for building into a stand. None work as well as the Nokia DT-900. It is very tolerant of poor positioning of the phone on this base. It doesn't get warm or warm the phone like the others often do. This is the second DT-900 I own. Can't be trusted

Won't charge my Nexus 6 when its in "the pillow" and only sometimes by itself. Will occasionally charge part way then stop. When it does charge completely the light doesn't go out.
