Bond in Transition.

Skyfall is an important part of the James Bond epic. Granted it is a separate film and is showing the transformation of the character James Bond. Some details are changed, and of course the surrounding continued contacts are changed. Major cast changes are made as a transition. Bond is more of a hit
man than a secret agent. More chase scenes and action. May not be the "best" in the series, but an important part of the series.

Thin plot

no more cool gadgets for this guy. Bond is not what he use to be. Story line is thin and did not give me the bang for the buck. The title would lead you to believe some cool sky stuff would take place but in reality its just the name of the estate in the end scene. Oops, gave away the rosebud effect-A real made for tv movie worthy of commercial interuptions Don't waste your money like i didRead full review...

Wanted to watch it again as soon as we finished it.

Characters were well defined, storyline was intriguing, and as always, the action was fun. I felt like the theme of "old-fashioned vs. modern" was just a tad overused, but it worked well for a movie that was created as a 50-year tribute to Bond. Daniel Craig is as charismatic as his predecessors, with an edge of "tough guy" that makes the character followable. The dialogue and interaction between characters is snarky, snide, and comfortable, like old friends who know each other well, not a bunch of over-dramatic prose. I saw somewhat too much of a resemblance between the main antagonist and characters such as the Joker, or Zeus from Tron (the typical psychological villian, trying to get into the heads of his adversaries), and at some point the plot felt typical of an action/espionage film, but the interaction between characters was so good that I didn't really care. All in all, a great tribute to a series that we've all enjoyed for decades, and certainly made an excellent date night for myself and my husband.Read full review...

Save your money unless your a James Bond collector.

This movie for bring a James Bond 007 movie started good, but pooped-out and became dull. James Bond acted like he was stupid, or dull thinking at times. Too many dead spots to live up to the regular James Bond action movies. The plot made the directors of MI 16 Secret Service looked like they had no brains, on drugs and were easy targets. Very poor plot. My dog would be smarter then they were. The English accent was language barrier to me, and lost part of plot trying figure out what they said. I wish they learn to speak English. The actor looked too old, too small and did not fit the part. Grandpa Bond.Read full review...

Failure and Redemption

007 is shot by his own people in the first few minutes of the film, fails in his mission, and the rest of the movie shows his painful and painfully slow recovery while MI6's reputation and infrastructure is under direct attack by the people 007 let escape. 007 is now considered by most in his own division to be an injured and aging dinosaur, with new characters of power over him moving to put him out to pasture, except M, who solely has faith in 007 and his non-technological 'old school' abilities and techniques.

This film shows 007's and many of the other characters' flaws and troubled history. No spoilers here, but we see aspects of 007 and his history never shown in previous movies.

This movie, while not all a traditional 007 movie, has enough of the 007 panache, wit, and incredible good luck for any fan, and enough of a good script for other movie watchers.

007 Does It Again!

Another great action and engaging look into the life and times of James Bond. I enjoyed the movie very much. However, the loss of Judy Dench as "M" was a bit of a disappointment to me as I truly thought she was the best of all who played the role.
Daniel Craigslist is the best Bond of them all in my opinion. Good entertainment.

Welcome to the 21st century, Mr Bond

One of the best Bond films in the collection. Craig is my favorite Bond and his chemistry with Dench is a pleasure to watch. The story crams a lot into one movie and all performances are A+. It is key to the Bond saga sense the character of M is explored more fully and closure is given. It ushers in the 21st century, modern Bond era. A+Read full review...

The last Bond film with Judi Dench.

Good but not great Bond movie. This is the last time you will get to see Judi Dench in a Bond film. It hard to believe that she is now 78 years old, but I guess it was time to give the roll a rest. I think Daniel Craig should also pack it in. (Not for his age but because he's not that great a James Bond.) The movie was lacking in excitement or pizazz. I really think it is time to get a new (and better) James Bond. It is still ok but I put at 3 to 4 stars max.Read full review...

Disappointing bond movie

Thought the plot was more like a cheap Western of many years ago. Will be donating it to a charity resale store, but not going to bother making a special trip for it.

An interesting story – especially seeing where James Bond came from.

For almost the first hour of this film, it's the standard action shots that just seems so unrealistic. The chase scene, and then the motorcycle chase across the tile roofs, and the consequential crash that would kill any normal man, but then James Bond is not normal. However, after the nonsense, Skyfall does become interesting. Daniel Craig provides a much more interesting James Bond character with a sense of real duty and purpose.Read full review...
