It works well, but great value it is not. Things like this used to be sold in brick and mortar stores like Radio Shack and even Sears. Now, with the extinction of such places, it is such an esoteric item that online is about the only option for us old analog heads. You NEED one of these little jewels!
I have an Otari MX-5050 reel to reel deck that I got a couple of months ago. I don't know when the last time it was degaussed, but there was noticeable hiss in playback from tapes that I knew sounded better. I bought this little jewel to demag the heads and everything that touches the tape. There was an immediate difference. The hiss was much less noticeable, and I'm not afraid to put very valuable master tapes on this machine now.
If you have a reel to reel, cassette... any kind of tape deck, I highly recommend you get one of these. I don't know why I waited so long to get it! Read full review...

This is a solid product. The wand was a perfect shape to reach the metal components in my old cassette deck. there are no moving parts, so this will probably last a long time.
