A Good Romantic Comedy

Matthew McConaughey (Fools Gold and many more) plays Connor Mead, a womanizing playboy who's philosophy in life is to make love, not fall in love.

When he is invited to his brothers wedding he runs into his lifelong friend Jenny (Jennifer Garner) and the ghost of his uncle whom he has modeled his life after (Played by Michael Douglas).

On the same premise as the movie Scrooge, Conner is shown his failed life by three ghosts.

The premise of the movie is an old story and I was expecting to be disappointed, however it turns out that McConaughey and Garner bring a quality to the movie that made it entertaining.

I recommend anyone who wants to see a good comedy / romance film to go ahead and watch this one.

Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past Review

This movie surprised me, yeah it had all the romantic comedy trappings but this seemed to have a message about the human condition. How our relationships mold into what we are. The take off on "A Christmas Carol" works more than I thought it would. If you like Matthew and Jennifer you already now what to expect form these two. It was a treat seeing Michael Douglas back playing Uncle Wayne the ladies man. It give this movie a 7 out of 10 on the overall movie scale but a 8 out of 10 on the romantic comedy scale. Most movies like this start off good and lose me towards the end, this one had me from the beginning.Read full review...

A very talented collection of past "girlfriends." Overall concept was fun.

The reformation of Scrooge gets a very modern twist. Until this movie, I didn't think McConnahy had a comic abilty.

New non holiday version of AChristmas Carol

If you like the actors in this you will like the movie. It’s not very serious just entertaining. It’s not a great film but fun to watch.

Great Movie

Celebrity photographer Connor Mead loves freedom, fun and women... in that order. A committed bachelor who thinks nothing of breaking up with multiple women on a conference call, Connor's mockery of romance proves a real buzz-kill for his kid brother, Paul, and a houseful of well wishers on the eve of Paul's wedding. Just when it looks like Connor may single-handedly ruin the wedding, he is visited by the ghosts of his former jilted girlfriends, who take him on a revealing and hilarious odyssey through his failed relationships--past, present and future. Together they attempt to find out what turned Connor into such an insensitive jerk and whether there is still hope for him to find true love...or if he really is the lost cause everyone thinks he is.Read full review...

Funny Movie!

I bought this movie because I enjoy Matthew McConaughey movies and thought it would be a good chick flick.

My husband and I sat down to watch it (at his suggestion)and what can I say except it's not just a chick flick!! We laughed and enjoyed it so much! I wasn't sure how much my husband would like it but he laughed just as much as I did if not more.

It is a retelling/retooling of the story Christmas Carol but it turned out to be very funny and touching (not in the weepy kind of way but more of a person does good kind of way).

If you are looking for a funny movie that would be good for date night or just an evening in, this works well for that. Matthew is a cad but until......but that would give too much away. It is very funny - IMHO I believe you would enjoy this movie.

I give it 2 thumbs up - and so does the hubby! :)
