Exactly what I hoped for

I was leery about buying a Disney classic from eBay, but this multi format copy of The Little Mermaid is exactly what I was hoping for. My girls and I have watched it several times since we got it last week, all on our home player, car entertainment system and on the Movies Anywhere app with the digital code (FYI, the code shows an expiration date of Nov 2018). Great film needed better extras & cheap discs

The 1989 classic that got Disney animation back on it's feet.

Love Sebastian & Ursula is one of my favorite villains.

The Oscar winning music.

Now, let me pick apart this 3 disc set.

Only the 3D disc has art work on it. They started this last year-cheap discs with no artwork from the film. Cheap.

And, the recent thing they input when you use pause instead of the film just pausing things are going on. Kind of defeats the purpose of "pause" right?

Only new extras of interest to me was the part with Jodi Benson (Ariel) at Disney World. There was NO new making of segments, just old segments from previous releases of the film. But, yet the unnecessary tradition of having some current musical artist redo one song from the Oscar winning soundtrack. NEVER have watched or listened to those on any Disney DVD or blu ray release.

A great film that stands up the test of time as a Disney classic. Just remember the little things wrong with the 3 disc set I mention above.Read full review...

Remember home 3D?

Remember when the industry was trying to push home 3D? Not great. I haven't watched the 3D version as I don't have the capability in my home theater. The rest of the supplements are great, although definitely of a time capsule from half a decade ago.
The digital copy still works, I contacted Disney to make sure. The digital download of the soundtrack has expired, however. Right now, this is the only way to have this movie digitally...although the Disney rep told me there will be a Signature Edition being released soon (no date given, I asked).Read full review...

The Film that Started the Disney Animation Rebirth.

One of my grandchildren's favorite

My granddaughter will be 21 this year and as a child this was her favorite movie she wore out 3 VHS tapes watching it. I am hoping that one day great grandchildren will watch it. Such a cute movie.

Its a really good movie.

It got the movie really for when my niece visits, but I do enjoy the movie. The animation has improved quite a bit since the original DVD was released in the 1980-ties. It's just not a complete revision. The only thing I'm disappointed with is that I appear to be too late to the get the iTunes digital version of the movie that's associated with the bundle.Read full review...
