controller working fine, very pleased with the product.
I have not yet got it to work with my Xbox console. The jury is still out, I am trying to make it work. I have gotten the controller to work, problem was Xbox console.

Authentic Controllers
The particular controllers I bought do seem to be authentic OEM Microsoft controllers. Their labels are correct and have different serial numbers. They have holograms on top and the plastic is etched correctly. Look for these characteristics when you buy controllers, new or used.
As for Xbox 360 controllers in general I find them to be the ideal value for standard gaming and since all my gaming computers have Xbox 360 wireless adapters, I continue to buy them over Xbox One controllers even now since it's a hassle to use both 360 and XBOne controllers at once for local multi-player. Flimsy and poorly made.
No padding during shipping at all. Might be why the battery pack is loose and shaking around and vibrating when I pick up the controller. It also doesn't say "Microsoft" on it like they usually do.
