I have been impressed in recent years by film offerings out of Asia that are not Hollywood and this one was no exception a Korean made film offering a glimpse of a period piece relating to an area not well known in the West, loosely based on a true story. The brutal conditions to characters endured is long and ongoing almost exhausting to watch, but the props and any special effects were done well, the story was great and very very impressive.Read full review...

As a history buff this movie was a fine story told with the latest CGI eye candy. The Russians vs Japanese in Battles of Khalkhyn Gol/Nomonhan were fantastically portrayed. Russian armored brawn against Japanese fanaticism on full display. The main characters of the movie complimented the action with a believable competitive turned ally development as each person just tried to survive events from the Russian front to Normandy, France.
