Something to help kill the time
Well, despite the low ratings this game recieved from gaming sites, I'm gonna go out on a limb and tell you it's actually pretty decent. The controls are a little wonky at first, but you can used to them pretty quickly if you take the time. The graphics aren't the best out there, but what you can do in the game makes up for it. I mean, how many chances do you get to run around in a giant robot and crush cars and buildings while fighting your enemies? Though one thing I will complain about is the lighting in the game. Sure, the enviroment is to indicate that the city is cast with really bad pollution, but unless you're willing to turn up the brightness on the tv, sometimes it's like trying to find your way in a huge house with a very weak flashlight. And one final thing is the music, which I have come to the conclusion, is nonexistant. No music to remind you that you're in a badass mech destroying stuff. So, unless you have some music going in the background, all you really hear is the sound fx.
Now about some of the other details, like well, the detailing of the game. Most people will automatically say "Oh it's the dreamcast, it's not all that good." That couldn't be further from the truth. The detailing from the other giant mechs, the explosions they make, the citizens running for their lives when you crush their car is just amazing. As for the mech you're piloting, it's like a moving, breathing machine. Mostly because it's actually biomechanical, which makes for a interesting expierence. As for the weapons that badboy carries. Sure you start off with some really puny weapons, but that always happens at the beginning. But once get further in the game, you get some really sweet weapons that really no other games can offer.
But while this game is good, in my opinion it's kinda short. I think if infogrames put a little more into it, it would be a solid winner.Read full review...
Interesting Mech Game
You play as Slave Zero, a giant robot that stomps through town, stomping cars that actually swerve away from you are you approach them including drives that bolt from their car doors and die in the same bloody mess no matter which fashion you kill them. Of course this game has nothing to really do with that, it's just one of the many interesting details implemented by the creator.
The controls are a bit odd; you move with the A,B,X,Y buttons while aiming with the joystick. The D-pad lets you jump and stomp, among other things. The left trigger fires rockets while the right trigger fires your rifle or whatever firearm you've upgraded to at the time. Upgrades are plenty from automatic weapons to sensor guided missiles.
You battle hover-crafts with mounted rocket-launchers including mechs much like yourself. Also, you can expect larger mechs when it comes to boss battles.
I enjoyed this game very much for the fact that it also have up to four-player multiplayer. Rumble pak is also compatible.Read full review...
This is a very good game and a must have for collector's and gamers alike
This hidden gem is a very unique game. You play a massive mech stomping around. It is a Dreamcast game that never costs very much but it is cool and easy to learn and play. The story does not drag on and on. The graphics are classic and the sound is not annoying at all but cool with the stomping and explosions. Slave Zero ain't no zero!
This game is pretty damn fun! Easy enough controls and fairly basic levels make for a good lazy afternoon game that doesn't require a helluva lot of brain work. Just shoot and blow things up. Done and done!Read full review...

Most may not like the controls,or lack of music in game.But it makes for some fun @$$ 4-player fun,and fighting a boss on top of a tall building is fun!
