Sims 3 PS3 Game

I really like Sims games. It is different than the PS2 genre, more things to buy in the Build/ Buy mode. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes these types of games. i love buying new furniture & wallpaper. I'd give it a great rating for entertainment. Kids can play this as it is less violent than others. I have other games of this genre.Read full review...

8/10 A personal favorite

If there was any confusion about what you're getting with the Sims 3 on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, let me clear it up for you: it's the Sims 3, the extremely popular PC life simulator, but on consoles. Obviously the game has been reworked to function with controllers instead of a mouse and keyboard, but there's also one other major addition: Karma Powers, a potent way to help or harm your Sims. If you're a fan of the Sims series, chances are you already own this game on your PC, but on the off chance that you don't, the console version is a good substitute.

The addictive formula that worked on PCs translates well to consoles, and you may find yourself neglecting your own needs to make sure your starving Sim gets some food. The controls may seem complicated at first, but the game does a fine job of easing you into the experience with its tutorial system. Once you get the hang of it, it's really quite easy.

Good game, alot more options

I liked the SIMS when it came out on PS. I also got it, for my girlfriend, when SIMS 2 came out on PS2. I loved SIMS 2 just because you actually control your sim. no more point and clicking to get them to do something. You would just walk up to an item and press x to see the options. Unfortunately, the reverted to the original for SIMS 3. I don't like that aspect, but it's a minor detraction for an otherwise good game. The options in this installment are plentiful. If you can think it, you can pretty much to it in the sims. I like the game alot. First night i spent a good 4 hours that flew by. There are a few more things that keep this game form being great. First of is a co-op mode. Playstation 2 had it for SIMS 2 but PS3 doesn't for SIMS 3. But I guess that seems necessary for the old control scheme. Another grip, as is my grip with every SIMs game. Once you get a career, there is little time for anyhting else. SO, even thought there is a robust town that your sims can explore, you never have time for it. Just wish that my sim would saty clean enough, or full enough to wander the streets of simville. Other than that, I must say that it's a very good game.Read full review...

Die Hard Sims Fan? PC - Console User? Only have a console?

Downs: Cannot import PC creations, only console to console creations (XBOX to PS3, visa versa), limited graphic capabilities, limited interface options, loading times, limited creation opportunities, frame rate shutters on the regular. Limited everything, hey it is a console game, what is new...

Ups: A decent representation of The Sims in a new way. I had never played The Sims on a console before, and I gave it a shot. It is worthwhile mainly because you can take The Sims with you, play on a bigger tv, etc. etc. There was opportunity to make it better, but hey you get PS3 trophies and it is something different if you have never played a console version!

Overall: If you enjoy The Sims in any form or regularity, it is worthwhile (Anything Below $35). I do recommend finding it new or if it is used, make sure that the registration for the online portion of the game, The Exchange (download custom creations, share, etc.) has not been used. Otherwise you will pay $10 to get it activated through PSN.

Hopefully this has helped in your decision, I am pretty good at diagnosing games just by the box, and I was right on the money. These impressions are just from playing it for under an hour.

sims brought to the ps3

this is a console version of the popular pc game(s)The addictive formula that worked on PCs translates well to consoles, and you may find yourself neglecting your own needs to make sure your starving Sim gets some food. The controls may seem complicated at first, but the game does a fine job of easing you into the experience with its tutorial system. Once you get the hang of it, it's really quite easy.Travel to any area outside of the general circumference around your house and you'll hit a loading screen. There's also some slowdown when you fast-forward time, which unfortunately happens a lot in this game.this life-simulation game is pretty consistent with the PC version. You'll create a Sim household or choose a pre-made family to start out with and then dictate their lives. It’s amazing that The Sims 3 works so well with a controller and that many of the PC functions are still intact. So if you’re curious about the Sims and don’t own a computer, you should try out the console version.Read full review...

Not quite as expected

I purchased the Sims 3 after having played (and loved) sims 1 and 2. I had them for playstation only, so had the fun of doing quests to get them to move to new houses etc. I was terribly dissapointed when the Sims 3 did not have this feature. It is open ended gameplay like the PC versions of one and two. It also does not have the direct player control like the Sims 2 had. The life span is way to short to get anything done (you can cheat and change game settings to let your sims live longer, but then babies stay babies for a horribly long time, and your neighbors grow old and die while you stay young)
Some good points are that you can have babies who grow to toddlers..etc. The graphics are nice and there are some fun new things to do such as gardening and fishing. As a stand alone game it is ok, but comparing it to others in the series I found it lacking a lot.
I can't say much about the building part as I have not yet really gotten into that. Items are probably my biggest complaint in this version though. I expected to have many choices and instead you get only a few choices but can change the colors. I would have liked to see some of the fun items from previous sims make a comeback. I feel like they went back in time instead of moving forward. All in all, not the best game.

Sims 3

I have been waiting for the Sims 3 games to come to consoles when it first came out on PC, and I have to say that I think it was well worth the wait. I purchased it for the PS3 and been having a blast since I did. There is a lot to do in this game and I'm having fun do it. But like every game there are the negatives. As far as I can see for now after purchasing the game about a week ago and playing almost non stop is that you can't go into all the buildings, there is no online play (which I knew before purchasing). That's pretty much all I could think of now, but there isn't much negative about this game. Overall, this is a fun game and I can't wait to buy the DLC for it.Read full review...

Overall good

The game is overall good. It did take forever to load last night causing me to turn it off before saving it but other than that no complaints.

Love the game

It's an older version but still fun to play. A little bit harder than the PC version to navigate and I wish I could fast forward through their work day or night faster than it does.

It's a great game. I'd recommend it to anyone!

This Sims has always been in my life, from the very first game to the latest expansion packs. The Sims 3 on console is almost exactly the same as the PC version, with some small changes. Although if you like a fast-paced game, it's in your best interest to buy this game on PC. The console version is a bit slower paced. All in all, it's a good buy.Read full review...
