Functional, but you can't tell solar charging state.

it works from both a USB charging source and solar exposure. the problem is with the bargraph display, it only really works when using the USB charger port. as a result, you can never tell what progress solar charging has made, if any. At best, a single LED lights to indicate there's some solar charge, but no indication of TOTAL charge state. The USB charging cable is also a very poor fit due to the rubber cushion, very hard to seat properly.

if the bargraph worked in both modes, it would be an excellent unit, as-is, it's just workable.Read full review...
