Great wee unit.

Great little scanner packed into such a small package. This model is specifically for the US market and has US specific frequency bands. Not suitable for the UK, Australia or New Zealand markets as it misses the high VHF band.
Has some very handy features such as close call which picks up any high power frequency near by handy for waiting at road works.
Also each memory bank has the ability to set one channel to priority which can be scanned when scanning other channels so you don't miss any important messages.
Overall it has easy menus and a good sound.
I would recommend this unit to others.

The Uniden BC75XLT is over rated

The Uniden BC75XLT police scanner receive signals good on batteries only. The police scanner does not receive signals very good when I use the USB cell phone power supply to power the scanner like the manual said. The receive signals are very Scratchy and static when I use the USB power supply.. But it receive very good on batteries only. Have to change batteries in it every 6 to 8 hours to listen to it all day. I tried 3 different USB phone charger to power the police scanner and all 3 did the same thing. The scanner was still scratchy and static. It get expensive running it in batteries all the time. But it play good on batteriesRead full review...

Great railroad scanner

I purchased this for listening to the railroads and fir the weather-bands so it more than fills my needs I didn't need 300 channels. However as my needs expands I will be ready with the room to add extra channels. It's beautiful to look at and gets great comments from everyone. I would purchase again it's great.

Almost forgot the battery options are great. You have option of using regular AA battery or rechargeable, if using rechargeable there is a switch inside battery compartment that needs to be changed to rechargeable and if using rechargeable user has option to charge battery's inside scanner with supplied cable

Lightweight, great features

At first I was taken back on how the scanner actually worked. I am a senior and some things don't come as easily now as before. So I enlisted my grandson to program it and brief me on how it functioned. He had it figured out in just a few minutes. Once I had it up and running I was amazed at how it brought in audio from locations that were previously silent. On the down side, having only 2 batteries doesn't give it a very long operational life. That said, they are easy to change out and cheap.

I am a retired fire chief and have had a lot of scanners over the years and this little guy seems to be the best one yet.

Small fun scanner

I have been working with this scanner for two days. And been having a ball There's a bunch of features that you need to learn. Then this guy really performs. One thing I suggest a bigger antenna. I put a long metal antenna on. It improves the performance greatly. The capture mode is nice. I search and program my channels manually It takes time but works. For $100.00. Its worth it. And if you want something better. You can move on. I'm ordering rechargeable batteries for it. The nice part only two AAs. You can run non rechargeable batteries if you like there is a switch in the batty box you need to set for one type or the other I've been listening to rail emergency air even CB a lot of funRead full review...

Great buy

The price was right and I’ve programmed channels to listen to for fighters, ambulance and police and even the weather. Works great. Easy to program and has the option to use regular batteries or rechargeable which can be recharged through the unit. Read full review...
