Good game, but left alot on the table
Pro's - The graphics, the graphics, and the graphics, AMAZING, a wintery world infested by large extemely detailed and creative monsters waiting to be annailated...what fun. The gameplay is fun, divided into missions that take you on a trek across a frozen planet with plenty of things to destroy in your way. explosions and characters responses to attacks seem realistic enough. I do enjoy playing the game a good bit. It is also a very challenging game that will frustrate even a hardcore gamer.
Con's - Ok, this game may be fun, but it will go extinct after Halo 3. There are many small reasons for this reasoning. The inability to multitask (running and changing gun at same time for instance) is very minor, but annoying. My biggest problem with the game is that there is no way to save your game except for hitting specific checkpoints, which could be quite a long way inbetween. In other words, you could find yourself repeating the same segment of 20+ minutes "work", multiple times. THAT GETS ANNOYING. I believe it is small things like that that make a good game great, and this game doesn't have the small things...it is a masterpiece to the eyes, but it is only a good game because of the lack of attention to small gameplay details.Read full review...

Cons
- Gameplay is not as deep as other Capcom titles have been such as 'Dead Rising' or 'Resident Evil 4'. Tends to be repetitive.
- Multiplayer mode is not as consistant as it should be.
- Controls could be smoother. Should be a way to not have to walk so much.
Comments
Lost Planet is one game that has a better multiplayer mode than the single player. The campaign is intriguing but the multiplayer is far more addictive and will keep you playing for months to come. There are a lot of things you will come to hate such as some of the aiming & movement issues but if you can get around them you will have fun.
Verdict
If you buy this buy it more for the Xbox Live experience. If you are looking for a great Capcom campaign on the 360 try 'Dead Rising' instead.Read full review...
Fun Game, Lacks 2 important Features
Both my 13 year old son and I love playing this game. It is just "different" enough from other first person shooters to keep it interesting and has a great campaign story line.
Features that may make you NOT purchase:
1. No co-op campaign. It is "almost" a rule in my house that two people play the Xbox at the same time.
2. You need multiple media to let multiple people save their progress. If you only have the hard drive, then only one person can play the campaign. I purchased an external memory card so that I could also play every now and then.Read full review...
Overall a pretty good game!
The game is actually fun to play, but a few things hold it back from reaching it's full potential.
1. Probably the biggest problem I found in the game is that the cutscenes are poorly written and are short. Which really cripples the game because the overall storyline is actually decent.
2. Boss fights can often be really challenging even on the easiest difficulty, which can be a good thing depending on the way you look at it. The real problem with the boss fights is that they are often HUGE and can kill you without even giving you a chance to attack.
3. Missions can get really tiresome, they start off short and progress with the later missions taking up to 1 1/2 hours to complete.
However, if you can look past these problems the game can be really, fun for example:
1. The voice actors fit their characters very well which is a nice touch to the game.
2. The game offers a large variety of weapons & vehicles that are a joy to use in combat!
3. Graphics are well done, especially on the boss fights!
Don't judge the game by it's problems for they are really not that big of a deal. Though the game would have benefited from better cutscenes, it's still good.
Overall: It may start off kind of slow, but it kicks in when you gain the ability to use vehicles later on! At it's price tag now I would say that the game is well worth picking up!Read full review...
Beautiful Graphics don't always equal Great Gameplay.
I'll start off by stating that I'm a huge fan of Capcom and the Xbox 360 and I had been anticipating this title for some time. Sadly the game failed to live up to my expectations and a lot of the hype surrounding it.
First and foremost it should be noted that the game is beautiful. It's a technical marvel from the highly detailed VS's that you pilot to the wind whipped snow your eyes will be watering from the graphical intensity of the game. Unfortunately amazing graphics don't always equal fun and engaging gameplay.
Basically Lost Planet can be summed up as a "next-gen" arcade shooter. Stages are generally made up of "missions" that require you to battle your way through the various Akrid or Snow Pirate infested areas to fight an end-stage boss. The enemies remind me a lot of the insects from the movie Starship Troopers and are fairly inventive at times, though just like the Snow Pirates they feel more like cannon-fodder than anything else. They all display limited a.i. and often stand around while you gun down their buddies right next to them.
Controls are fairly spot on, though for some reason your character you control runs at an agonizingly slow pace and the slightest hit from and enemy has him reeling to the ground where you'll probably spend 3/4 of the game. And what's worse when you stand up the enemy is usually waiting to knock you right back down again. This is especially prevalent in the boss battles and gets frustrating to the point of wanting to hurl your controller through the wall.
Storyline wise the game is pretty nonsensical Japanese fare. Your father was killed by an Akrid named "Green Eye" and you've forgotten your memory and now you must attempt to regain it by helping a small band of snow pirates intent on destroying all the Akrid Hives on the planet. Fairly unoriginal stuff, but then that's a lot of the stories in games these days.
Multiplayer over Xbox Live is a fun diversion, but don't expect this to take the place of RB6: Vegas or GRAW 2 it just doesn't hold up that well. The biggest annoyance is the fact that your character runs entirely too slow for the past paced nature of the game and the fact that some of the maps are so huge you'll often wander for minutes until you find the battle only to be killed and spent back to the spawn point miles from the battle. Also the lobby system in the game is a pain even though Capcom released a patch for it you still can't change game types, pick starting weapons, or change maps without destroying the room and having to re-invite all your friends again.
Overall if you can look past the games imperfections and appreciate it for it's beauty you'll have a good time, just don't expect something along the lines or RE4 or other Capcom hits because they've released better.Read full review...
Lost Planet is worth getting lost for awhile
Capcom has found success on the XBOX 360 recently, and it is no different with Lost Planet. This game is big, action packed, and has the big bosses that you would expect from the publishers of Resident Evil to have.
The game is fun, and relatively easy to play and master in a short time. The graphics and lighting are visually appealing, and show that Capcom understands the power of the 360.
This game is worth checking out, and enjoying, but it is not the "killer app" for the XBOX 360, or the must have. This title is worth picking up on ebay at a stellar price.
Graphics: Great - 4.5/5
Smooth textures, great mapping, and the smoke effects are great. There are slim to no frame rate issues, and Capcom did a great job with the visuals.
Sound: Great - 4/5
The sound in this game was well thought out and the explosions put you right in the action, though a lot of these effects feel recycled.
Gameplay: Good – 3.5/5
The gameplay is really well done, but the smoke and effects are too much of a distraction. The bosses though, make up for this and are worth going through the long, and sometimes, monotonous rounds to fight. Bonus points go to this game for including, and the ability to jump into the Mech suits.
Replay Value Good – 3.5/5
The single player mode lacks depth, and storyline, making you not want to play through it twice, and the end scenario and closing is weak. The online is fun, but lacks depth, strategy, and is great if you just want to jump in and game.
Overall Good – 3.5/5
The game is only 7-12 hours long on easy or normal, and 15-20 hours long on the hardest difficulty. Definitely worth checking out, though it is like a crush, your feelings for it will fade over time.Read full review...
Lost Planet
An older Xbox360 title, but none the less, it's a good one. The human race is trying to build a colony on E.D.N.III. A planet mostly frozen with ice and snow. After coming along so far with populating this foreign planet, we are attacked by an alien race known as the Akrid. The unique thing about this alien race, is that it harnesses " T-Energy " (thermal energy), which is a required resource for living on E.D.N. III. In fact, while playing, if you aren't gathering T-Energy from the aliens, or taking it from snow pirates (humans gone savage and fighting for their own resources), it's a good chance you're gonna freeze to death. Just OK
I bought this game becuase I'd heard good things about it. I love shooters so I had high hopes. This game just wasn't that great for me.
Gameplay:
This is only a third person view game. I would have liked to have been able to toggle my view. The controls are fairly easy to get used to, but when you're in a vehicle it can be frustrating because it doesn't seem as responsive as it should be. As far as completing levels, its pretty straighforward. You can explore a little bit but for the most part there's only one way to complete each mission. If you like bosses then you won't be dissappointed. There's some sort of boss-type creature on every level. It gets kind of repetative and you just have to keep trying different things to defeat some of them.
Storyline:
Just ok. I don't know if its because its made by capcom but I got the sense of a lot of Japanese influence in how the characters look and act and by no means am I into that kind of thing. There's cut scenes to every level and the plot is predictable and the acting not that great.
Other:
I just played the campaign, no online stuff so I don't know anything about that. It took me about 10-12 hours of play time to beat the whole campaign. You can't manually save your game so if you quit in the middle of a mission you have to start that mission completely over when you play again...I learned that the hard way. You do hit waypoints though so if you die you can start again at your last waypoint, this does help with the bosses if you're having trouble beating them.

Lost Planet is disappointing. It's not disappointing because it's a bad game, but because it could've been a great game. It's just frustrating that a bunch of things add up and detract from this game. I don't know where I would put my comments on “Story” and feel that I’ll need the room so I will just say it here. The Story in Lost Planet is bad. It’s hard to follow, and while it has some cool concepts and enticing plotlines, it is just put together horrendously. There is no character development, or really character introduction, and relationships aren’t formed or explained so everything just seems stereotypical or doesn’t make sense. **SPOILER ALERT** An example of this is when you capture this NEVEC bad guy named Joe, then become great friends with him, then he betrays you, and then you are friends again.**SPOILERS END** So just know that the story is forgettable. I definitely missed the intricacies of it, so if you would like to explain it to me, feel free. Anyways, onto the breakdown:
Gameplay: 8/10
Pros: The game is fun to play. There is so much action, the Vital Suits are fun to drive, and it’s just pure carnage and amped up arcade action. There are some real WOW moments where there are literally hundreds of creatures and people in the surrounding areas- definitely some killer and memorable battles. Boss battles are great and “classic.”
Cons: Grappling Hook is basically a stick here and pull me here and while it’s nice to have I wanted a fully functional Bionic Commando or Worms style grappling hook (ninja rope). Controls are a bit quirky and take some time to get used to (can’t look directly up! WTF?), but the most annoying thing about the gameplay is the stumbling, falling animations that stun you and lead to your death or at the very least a large chunk of your Thermal Energy Reserves. Oh yeah, that Thermal Energy thing really takes away from the exploring the world thing.
Graphics: 9.5/10
Pros: By far the strongest aspect of Lost Planet, the visuals are extremely impressive with the best and most realistic smoke I’ve ever seen in a game. The character design as a whole is awesome (love the thermal packs on each human and the pulsing, glowing suit under everyone’s clothes) not to mention the awesome Akrid designs, and Vital Suits. Graphics are just sweet!
Cons: The action can be so intense that you lose your bearings (especially if there’s smoke around or if you’re hit with a rocket). The other problem is that since you’re on a snow world the scenery gets a little tedious (even though there are some lava, and indoor levels to break it up).
Sound/Music: 9/10
Pros: The voice acting is actually pretty good even though the story is poorly put together. It’s a script problem and not an audio problem. The music, gunfire, and Akrid screams all get your blood pumping and going.
Cons: I found it really hard to hear my teammates in-mission dialogue/updates. This is especially annoying since they help direct you where to go and how to defeat enemies, etc.
Lasting Appeal: 5/10
Pros: 2 Multiplayer modes with up to 16 people on Xbox Live is fun. “Target Emblems that spell a word” achievements in each level give the main game some replay value.

I'm Lost In Lost Planet
Lost planet is a inst keeper especial if you a fan of Capcom games.A riveting sci-fi action shooter for the Xbox 360. This is yet another great game Capcom can add under there nelt with such greats as Resident Evil or Devil May Cry. Set within the merciless frozen tundra of a hostile planet, humans struggle for survival as conflicts arise between man, the surrounding indigenous creatures and the monstrous beings that have invaded.
The controls are easy enough to learn and the graphics are breathe taking. in Game you face huge bosses each level. You will also face snow pirates and be able to choose from lots of different weapons.While fighting menacing invaders during impossible weather conditions throughout vast snow fields and deserted cities will leave your head spinning. Having a real-time loading system, players can expect a seamless experience that leaveing you completely immersed in game with out have to wait for the next level to load. The action stops whnn you stop.
You can even operate the VS robot suit, which is kind of like that exo suit in Alien however, this suit can transform too. It Transform into a sled type vehicle and uses mulitple weapon. This game can also be played as multiplayer matches. The match winners are decided by a battle points system and not just total kills. You can get battle points for capturing modes, defeating your enemies, and blowing up enemy VS suits.Multiplayer modes also add to the value of Lost Planet by allowing players to take part in intense team battles via the Xbox Live online.
Battle points will be lost if you kill yourself. Unforanately this game propbaly never see the light of day for Pc or The PS2 or PS3. This game is a total 5 Stars. This game makes the X-Box 360 worth having.
