Awesome for Kayak fishing! really does the trick

I bought to use on a small kayak and it exceeded expectations. I tested it out with another boat with a Lowerance Hook Reveal sitting next to me. 6 foot para-cord lead attached to the pod to stern of kayak. It read the water temp within a degree or two consistently. It reads fish and bottom contour well until 50' then we started to see discrepancies in the units. The amount of water it is scanning (cone) is pretty narrow. It reads well towing at a paddle of 3 mph, after that too much wobble at speed and it starts to struggle for a good reading. Do plan on spending time with the gain settings to get it right. It does pick up debris as fish often. This is a great solution for small boats that do not want to spend money on batteries and mounting gear for a fish finder. I did have some issues with it connecting when I would pull the pod out of the water to turn it off then to toss it back in the water later, usually had to close the app and restart it.Read full review...

Performs as advertised

This is a very easy to use and read unit. The external antenna helps maintain connection even in choppy water. Not the lightest unit but can still be cast on a MH spinning reel. Awesome fishing tool

Easy to use and works great...there is one improvement they need and that is to make the app more compatible with use during other apps open....have to have all apps on phone turned off for the Vexilar sp100 app to work and function properly . Battery leaves a lot to be desired

The app and information work great, the battery, not so much. It claims to run for four hours off a full charge, but I haven’t ever gotten more than 1 hour. Great technology, poor power supply.
