A great device IF YOU DON'T DROP IT
It is a great device, as good as a desktop yet convenient to go with you. It is fast, efficient and of very high quality. YET it has some bad points as well. The main problem is that it is so easy to drop and when it does the screen gets cracked or worse. It won't bounce, it will break. There is something about it that makes it easy to drop. And the screen will crack, shatter and the touch will be destroyed. Then you will have phantom touches all over the screen until you turn the touch screen off. You will find scads of them on Ebay, all with broken screens and no touch screen. Do I recommend it, YES. The surface is superior to all other tablets. Just don't drop it.Read full review...

This is my first surface and it will not be my last. It boots in mere seconds and is great for traveling because it weighs only 2lbs. Expandable storage
Charges pretty fast
Looks expensive and fantastic
One note is amazing for students
The Bad:
Feels very breakable if dropped
S pen buttons are slightly awkward to use
Running games drains battery quickly
Fan is loud when running games
Pen falls of the magnetized side far too easy.
I would suggest also buying the surface 4 keyboard and a traveling case that has a place to put the pen. In my opinion it is not a device to be used while moving as it is very breakable. Great value for students.Read full review...

Exactly what I needed
It has great features and especially, it's more sensibly priced since the Surface 4 came out. I upgraded to Win10 without any issues and couldn't be happier. The pen has nice feel and features. The screen is sensitive enough. Great laptop replacement. It has limitations but if you're looking at one, you already know them. Runs smooth and quiet.

Fantastic portable work machine
Great computer for someone that needs a lightweight machine throughout the day. It's form factor allows it to be carried around quite easily in a messenger bag or a simple laptop sleeve. Great for having a computer handy to bring up documents or annotate articles that one might be reading/working on.
The docking station gives your surface greater desktop functionality by giving the user far more ports to utilize peripherals such as screens, mice or keyboards while simultaneously charging the computer.
