Works well only some of the time
Since my 2004 Toyota Sienna is far from up-to-date electronic media-wise, I purchased the iTrip to utilize my aging iPod. In general it works ok, but it has difficulty finding a frequency that is interference-free. And the positioning of the frequency-setting unit (I assume it's the transmitter) needs a clear shot at your radio aerial. I used it travelling mountain roads to a ski resort, but had frequent difficulty in urban and suburban areas.Read full review...

Did I get a dud?
Who knows why, but the transmission power on this thing was aggravatingly weak. On select channels, I could hear the faint whispers of the song I was trying to play from my device (plugged in completely, volume up), but never was it even close to the quality I was used to in past products. A while back I had the iTrip that plugged right into the butt of your iPod, which worked as well as I could have expected, and after that I bought a Universal Trasnmitter from Coby and was extremely pleased with it. I only had to stop using it because the cord frayed so much, and these days the price of a new one is egregious. So I went with a Griffin, a reputable brand, but this thing just sucked. Plain and simple. I don't live in a terribly large town, and my last transmitter had no issues here, so I'm left to think it was a faulty model or the product is sub-par. I'd say just foot the bill for a new Scosche that has aux / bluetooth connectivity, and get it new so there's a reasonable return policy.Read full review...

Not good for large metro areas.
I read the previous reviews and learned that sound quality wasn't great. I bought it anyway because I am driving an old car without USB or aux jack input for my iPod. It would cost a fair amount of money to buy a new radio system or to have a jack put in. So I took a chance with this FM transmitter in hopes it would work. Sadly in major metro areas it is almost useless. If you manage to get a signal on one station it doesn't hold for long and you are scrambling to find another station. While you are driving this is very annoying. Also you really have to put your stereo in mono to get any usable sound. Stereo produces too much noise. So would I buy this again? Not for a major metro area where the radio stations signals are simply too strong and mostly taken. If I lived in a rural area with few stations than it is an inexpensive option. But I would still go the route of an jack or USB as the sound quality is excellent. The FM transmitters would have been pretty good about 25 years ago.Read full review...

It works
It works, it looks good though there are products just like this one that are more loose and don't have so much cables. The shipment was super fast, but the sound was the disappointing part even with changing the sound to mono. I can probably see it's old because in the instructions it used an iphone 4 as an example which says a lot, not all but a lot.Read full review...

Save Your Money
Total piece of junk. I bought this one to replace one that worked great for 3 years but finally gave out. This one doesn't play clearly on any station. Actually, it hardly even plays. On the off chance the it does play, it's barely audible under all of the static (which isn't on the station until this gets plugged in). Tried it in multiple cars with the same result. What a waste of money.Read full review...

Do Not Buy
I had a Griffin iTrip years ago that had excellent reception. With this one, it doesn't matter what channel I flip to, the sound still fades in and out, static, just terrible. Don't waste your money. I am so glad to see others feel the same way as I do about this product. This went straight to the garbage and just upgraded my stereo head in the car with a Kenwood.Read full review...

Static-y
I can't get my receiver to stop at least some ambient static sound, if not loud static. I've tried every station, not too sure what else to try. My old Griffin was amazing and never gave me static sound but this new one won't cooperate.Read full review...

Very Weak Signal - Unusable
Easy to program. Easy to use. Easy to change world region (Japan, US, Europe). Signal is too weak to use, though, which defeats the purpose of the product. An older Griffin iTrip for the iPod Photo worked great - I should have bought another instead.Read full review...

Works well. Fast ship. Good seller communication!
I bought this Itrip Griffin Fm Transmitter for a moving across country road trip. Works well in town Austin Texas- just the faintest hiss on Europe mode- which you can't hear over road noise. I do hope it works well for my trip!Read full review...
