nice things come in small packages
When I replaced the receiver for my home theater system it didn't have a phono input. This fit the bill. My Pioneer turntable works great with the PP400. Small size and reasonable price made it a great buy. Very happy.Read full review...

good value for small money....
Ok, this is the cheapest phono preamp available. To criticize it for lack of sophistication or for low quality components is just unfair. But, it is the most minimal phono preamp ever created. It This minimalist preamp has one teeny-tiny op amp on the circuit board, a few tiny( TINY) Electrolytic capacitors, a few tiny resistors...in a nice steel box. I cannot believe this thing has any sort of channel separation .....nor power filtering. ( Wal wart) There is just no physical way. However it works. For a teenagers first stereo, their first introduction to vinyl, this phono preamp costs less than a replacement stylus for their dads old turntable. I would say..entry level, period. Then move on up. As such......I think it is a great value, and a great starting point for modern vinyl. When ya save up and then get a NAD, Cambridge, even ART phono preamp...then you will be able to hear the improvement. Meanwhile, spend 2x the price, skip the learning curve, get the ART for like 49 bucks. Anything above that becomes really abstract. In the meantime, upgrade the entire turntable and especially the cartridge. This is a multi-variable equation of value for money. For the money, this thing just works. Period.Read full review...
Basic phono preamp.
A basic phono preamp at a reasonable price. It works, but mine has a noticeable hum which I have been unable to remove no matter the placement of or size of the ground wire used.

It works!
I learned that I don't have to pay the additional $ for a receiver that has a built in phono amp and port. So, for a total of about $160.00, I now have a fine new 200 watt stereo receiver and this little guy and great sound. Patch cords are not included.Read full review...

Excellent product.
Low noise, excellent gain to line level, very reasonable cost. Would be nice to have a click and pop filter in it, that is just another gadget to get.

so so
My only gripe about this is that it does not allow you to control how much input it receives.

So far so good
It arrived, I tried it, it works great with my amplifier. I hope it continues to work as well when I finally get to a permanent installation.
