Great design, but a little bit of a warp to the blade
While I absolutely love this knife, when I received it and sighted down the tang, I realized it has a bit of a warp to the blade. I realize this is a large piece of steel to work with and it is not the easiest thing to keep perfectly straight. Seller told me it is the manufacturers problem, now I have to decide if I can just live with it, or go to the trouble of sending back to manufacturer. Other than that, I love this knife. It came fairly sharp, is very comfortable in hand, and has good weight and balance. I actually like the sheath, which others have said was an issue. The Velcro closure at the top is a minor thing to complain about, the knife stays in fine without it. It has plenty of points to strap it to a pack, and I like that the belt loop is almost at the butt of the handle, so while on your belt, the knife is not sticking up jabbing you in the ribs. poor sheath material
The knife is of good quality but the sheath is of poor quality. It is not a snug fit. I would rather of had a leather sheath.

Never judge a blade by its sheath...
QUALITY budget blade! Just like all the other great fixed blade Schrades you are probably going to want to re-sheath this. But that's the great thing about Schrade, you basically only pay for the blade allowing you to customize a sheath to your own liking. Alot of companies have better sheaths sure but you pay for them and even then most lack the quality if a custom job and will NEVER be exactly like you want it. If you can deal with Schrades factory job then your wallet definitely won't notice otherwise an extra $30-$40 will get you a perfect one and still cheaper then a $100 counterpart from another company...Read full review...

A beast of a blade

the only knife you ever need
the only bad point would be that the blade is super heavy...this knife is not balance...but that extra weight help a great deal when chopping wood...super sharp..can filet a fish and cut the wood to cook it..this knife will cut threw bone...just the size will intemadate anybody or anything..Read full review...

A lot of knife for the price.
This knife is awesome, It's full tang thick steel. I have other bowie knives but this has a modern rubber grip that feels great in my large hands. And the titanium coating gives it A more modern look as well.
the edge comes fairly sharp but you can get it much more sharp if you desire. The sheath is hard plastic but pretty solid would have preferred nylon but it still works and is rugged as well. The knife is just A tough and rugged survival knife that will last A lifetime. It is large and hefty but that's what you want if your going to be chopping smaller pieces of wood or skinning large game. Or cutting rope or any type of chores out in the wilderness. A most excellent value!
This knife is actually a better value than I thought it would be. The fit and finish are indicative of a much more expensive knife. It's sharp out of the box and the only thing I don't like about it is an easy fix: the velcro keeper strap. I like the sheath but will drill a small hole in the bottom ala mora knife sheath and we're good to go. This thing is an absolute beast of a knife and should be a multi-use survival knife. Having bought another Schrade knife earlier in the year, I was looking to collect these oversized and oddly named knives just for fun.
The Good: Grips are comfortable, edge is reasonably sharp out of the box, and the spine is thick enough to do heavy batoning.
The Bad: Edge and sharpness retention seem to be sub-par. I'm not sure if it's my knife only but I found that the blade "sticks" to the sheath and requires a bit of effort to pull out. With my other Schrade knife similar size and style of sheath, it is much easier to unsheath.
For the price it's an intimidating but rugged chopper that you could use for camping or clearing out debris in the backyard.Read full review...
