Outstanding, revolutionary product. Should be standard. Rim strips with double-wall rims are obsolete, and tape should never have become standard.
Glad I discovered these. I used to work on bikes, changed a lot of tires. Always used rim strips.
Finally bought a 29er a few years ago, and it had a blowout, just after inflating tires (hardly ever rode it). Removed tire and tube, found that they used adhesive tape, not a rubber or plastic strip. Why? Tape had crept out of position, tube blew into spoke hole; it popped.
Shopping for rim strips, found this product. Ingenious!
Bought some, installed today, am confident this type of flat will never happen again, and saved a little weight too.
Can't believe though, reputable bike makers went the cheap way with adhesive tape.
If I built bikes, these would be standard.

Need an in-between size
I bought the red and yellow, since I was not sure what size would fit best. Turns out, neither were a good fit for my rims. The reds were too small, the yellows too big. They need a size in-between. I ended up using the yellows, but the fit was too tight to press in by hand, so I had to tap them in with a mallet. I ended up breaking a couple of them. It took me about 45 minutes to do both wheels.
They work as advertised, as my tires are still holding air a couple weeks later. Usually, my spoke holes would cause a flat within a couple days because my too-soft rim strips had sunk into the holes.
These would be perfect if they were made of a slightly more flexible material, or if the part that fits into the hole was designed to expand/contract to fit the hole (ie. snap-in instead of press-in).Read full review...

Works for tubeless!
I know these are not meant for tubeless, BUT if you find/buy the correct O-Ring, these work amazing for tubeless applications! This is my second set of these, I just wanted more for "back-up" reasons. I've been using these and a specific o-ring for 8 months or so and have had ZERO tire issues. Comes to around 12g (BOTH WHEELS!) for this tubeless set up. Also they don't interfere with the side wall or shift if u remove the tire. U can also do a trail repair (in extreme conditions), pop the bead, pull the plug, replace the broken spoke, put it back together, and done! Works for tubeless MTN bike rims
I tried these on a 29" i23 MTN bike rim. I also used Stan's rim tape over them. Everything works fine for a tubless tire,,,,,so far(4-5 weeks).

Not a good fit.
I measured my spoke holes at 8 mm and ordered the 8mm veloplugs, but the fit wasn't good. The plugs fit into the spoke holes, but were just loose enough that I needed to secure them with tape. Otherwise, they would fall out. Maybe the larger size would fit better. The veloplugs work, but I had to hack them to make them work on my Specialized Roubaix with Shimano wheels.Read full review...
