Submarine Spitfire Monogram 1/48 Scale

One Best Monogram Kit made. SUBMARINE SPITFIRE. The old kit lives up to it's working Monogram Kit. The new ones do not have retractable lang gear. Basic black and gray parts. Fits real good but they were slag that had to remove on the wings , fuselage. Always remove by sanding not with a Xacto knife, for this has tendancy to cut in on the wing edges or fuselage. Each step requires drying time. Since this a retractable gear model, carefull with the glue not to get any on the moving parts. Always open the landing gear with knife blade or a pin. This will prevent damage to the wheel covers. Take your pilot trim excess plastic off and Spray it Flat Whiite. Paint details accordingly once throughly dry. You'll have a perfect replica of Britians Submarine Spitfire. Like one seen in the movie Dunkirk.Read full review

Strictly Entry Level

A new kit made from very old molds by Revell of China. Decent cockpit detail and decals but raised panel lines and poor/flimsy landing gear attachment points. 'China' molded in raised letters on the wing that will need to be sanded off. Gun ports in wing not opened up, only some decal 'tape' included to cover the ports. Low cost and parts count may be attractive to newer modelers but experienced aircraft modelers will be better served by 1/48 scale kits from Eduard or Tamiya IMO. Read full review
