Not quite but not bad version of the Trackman Wheel

I've used several wired Trackman Wheel T-BB18 mice over the years and one of these TM570 Cordless Trackman Wheels before buying a new one. The wired Trackman is of somewhat higher quality than the cordless version (and are a cult favorite) but the cordless version is still very nice, and features a rocker button in addition to the wheel that you can customize to scroll or quickly navigate pages. Battery life is excellent in this model -- one battery will last for a year or more.

The wired version is shaped slightly better to fit the hand, and the Cordless's clicking noise can be distracting. I've taken apart a T-BB18 for cleaning, and I imagine the clicker can be silenced or muted a bit with some DIY. But, all in all, these TM570's are still very comfortable to use and are a nice pairing for laptops or minimal desk setups.

Good design but flawed components

This mouse is notorious for quickly wearing out its button switches, which results in flakey button performance (difficult to grab text, unintended double-clicks, etc.). The ergonomic design of the trackball is good, so I picked up a used M570 that appeared to be in excellent condition. But it turned out to be that way only on the outside. Soon after I started using the mouse, the problems with worn out switches became apparent. Now, I have to either toss the mouse or replace the switches. Just what I wanted...a repair job that probably takes an hour or more to do. I can see why the previous owner sold the mouse, and why so many used M570's are available.Read full review...

Best mouse you ever use -no pain in my hands

Pros -best mouse I have ever used . 20 plus years of mousing. Used to get pain in my hands until I started using this mouse. It was actually recommended by my ergo department . I am on my 5th.

Cons- the track ball rides on three tiny bearings. The bearings get dirty & requires constant cleaning. It's easy you just pop the ball out & wipe them. They do eventually wear out. I would say maximum life span is about three years & then you have to replace the mouse. Keep in mind I use it all day- 5 to 6 days a week & 8 to 10 hours a day.

With that said I still would rather spend the money than have the pain & I have found no better for my use & preference . I work in a call center for a very large insurance company and am a office production worker . For me this is the golden ticket and I really prefer a thumb track ball. I have used others types of track balls but I am faster with this mouse .

Excellent product for the price

I was looking for a replacement for my mouse and this fits the bill. I was having problems with radiating pain in my rear right shoulder from constant use of the mouse. In researching the problem I found that a lot of doctors recommend the switch to a trackball. This is very comfortable to use and with the trackball it can be used in a smaller space than a mouse. The fact that it has the unifying feature is also a plus for easy setup with the unifying receiver that I had used for my keyboard and mouse.Read full review...

Good Overall

As you can see from the picture the M570 trackball mouse is a right hand only mouse so not suitable for a left handed person. It's a good overall mouse and lasts quite awhile. I don't give it 5 stars though as the Logitec software sometimes reacts badly with Windows. It is my favorite Logitec mouse though so if you use one consider this design if you're right handed. Since it does have bluetooth receiver it works with my Logitec keyboard as well so that is a plus despite the what I consider to be a somewhat high price brand new. I like that the mouse keys are very customizable. Having said that another downside is the bluetooth receiver is USB and soon I will move to a USB C mac so not sure if it will work on a dongle.

I tried the wired mouse that could go either hand, but that one seemed to conflict with Windows even more so wasn't that usefull and I thought it was expensive and cheaply made for the price Logitec was asking. The ball was quite loose and it will fall out so I have to be careful if moving location with my equipment.

Best trackball of the modern age

I like this trackball- but then again, I am a trackball type person. it feels very similar to the original ones that were available in the 90s... but seemingly more comfortable as it fits my hand better. it works fine on the regular windows generic driver, but with the Logitech driver installed, you have access to the semi programmable buttons. great for trackball fans!Read full review...

This may be my new favorite mouse!

I bought this mouse because I had the Trackman Marble and not having a scroll wheel just wasn't cutting it. I was trying to play a game (Sims 4) with it and I could not zoom in or out - done via a scroll wheel. I could set the extra buttons to auto scroll but the game didn't recognize that.

Enter this mouse. I have the convenience of a wheel, the ergonomics of a trackball, and STILL have a couple extra buttons to designate! The game detects the use of the extra buttons just fine, and I can play fully without even touching my laptop. Obviously for regular use (such as surfing the web) everything works fine too.

Having it cordless is FANTASTIC and I have yet to have any issue with the mouse not communicating with or connecting to the dongle. The single AA battery it came with has yet to be replaced even once - it chews through batteries at about the rate of your average TV remote - that is, VERY SLOWLY. it has been 95% every time I have checked.

The couple minor negatives - sometimes the mouse is a bit skippy. The ball doesn't seem to roll as smoothly as the Trackman Marble but perhaps that is due to a size issue or the design. Even that is also a positive because the Trackman Marble ball pops out too easily, but on this mouse the ball takes a bit of push to get it out.

The slight skip at times is really only an issue if you are trying to do very precise work. For example, graphic design or photo editing - you may have to zoom in to your image more to allow a bit more give. But I've used it for that too and if you keep it clean and aren't doing super precision (pixel level) work, it still works beautifully.

In case it isn't obvious, I highly recommend this mouse. If you are a lefty (as I am) but you can't accommodate a right-handed mouse then you would be probably the only demographic I wouldn't suggest this to. If you can accommodate a right-handed mouse - buy it!

A Fine Gem

The Logitech M570 wireless trackball mouse is exceptional in ergonomic design and quality. I’ve been a standard mouse user since the 80’s and I noticed last year that I developed carpal tunnel and that it was causing pain whenever I was using the standard mouse. I tried using different types and designs but kept having the same pain issues. That is until I purchased the M570. Instantly, I noticed there was no pain associated with using this trackball because I didn’t have to move, twist, and turn my hand and arm a certain way. It took me a week to become acclimated with the new trackball using my thumb. I don’t think I would ever go back to using a standard mouse again. The learning curve for PC gamers may be greater. It’s a function of practice makes perfect. Great job Logitech! Read full review...

Better than a mouse

There is a user adjustment to attained. My desk top has a 5-button scrolling mouse. I use a track ball in my easy chair with a laptop. That replaced a mouse on a book. The trackball was driven by the ball, this one took some dexterity with the thumb to get used to. Unlike the track ball this has a scroll wheel. I am considering another one to replace the mouse on my desktop PC

Logitech M570 USB RF Wireless Laser Trackball

Comfortable to use (good ergonomics), reasonably small desktop footprint, great for taptops to avoid use of built-in fingertip pointing devices which are for me unstable. Reliable and with great battery life. Logitech unifying receiver can store inside battery chamber if you do not choose to leave it inserted in the computer's USB port. I have bought 4 over several years, all of which are still functional. Great product... no longer easy to find in local office supply computer departments for some reason.Read full review...

Perfect fit, easy to use & great battery life!

This was a great replacement to an older Microsoft trackball mouse that I previously used. It fits perfectly in the palm of my hand and has the same functionality. The battery life is fantastic and I love that there's an indicator light on the top, where I'll notice it when the battery gets low.

The trackball glides smoothly and with great accuracy. The buttons click nicely and don't feel flimsy. The trackwheel makes for easy scrolling up/down a webpage, document or presentation.
