The Best Non-Hammer Studios Frankenstein film in a long time!

VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN is a breath of fresh air after several faltering attempts at retelling Mary Shelly's famous gothic horror novel. What I dug about this film was its look and feel, making it a proper Frankenstein film that lovely (and not slavishly) gave nods to the Hammer Studio's run back in the 1950s-70s. The monster is a beast, and I wish it had more of a role in the film. A new idea on an timeless tale.

I'am not the ultimat monster movie fan but the new detail added to the main characters gives the story alot more depth and interest. I normaly don't like to give the story away . Igor played by Daniel Radcliff had the twist that made all the difference. FRANKENSTEIN OR "HYDE"

What a fascinating movie!! It is pretty much what you may expect in a Dr. Frankenstein movie, but with a MUCH BETTER story line and so many twists, you may think you are on a roller coaster!!! The graphics/special effects are top-notch and the acting is spot-on from both Radcliff and McAvoy!! Some of the development of the cadavers into the monsters are very graphic and realistic, so you may become grossed-out at those points, but realism makes it all that much better. From start to finish, you will be happy...that you FINALLY see a Frankenstein movie that has a story line that is truly realistic and all the parts are included from the beginning of time until the final climactic ending. As a new take on the classic story, Victor Frankenstein...to quote the actors..."gives the name back to Victor." It's not about the monster or the grossness we've come to expect. It shows Victor's descent into madness, showing how the man becomes the monster. James McAvoy as Victor Frankenstein brings such passion, enthusiasm, energy and emotion to the character that has you rooted firmly on his side on things. Daniel Radcliffe as Igor is just as passionate and believable as you watch him grow from an almost creature-like character to a man on his own who does his best to try to save Victor from what he's becoming. It's full of adventure, action, drama, science fiction, heart and friendship with a bit of a love story between the two men that only adds to the energy. It lacked Real Horror . The movie seemed more about Igor than Victor

They had the money to make a good movie and had the CGI special effects to make a fantastic remake but when it came down to the story , at best it was a PG movie .. It lacked Horror and the rarely spoken character of the monster was just a CGI enhanced man in a rubber suit ..
