Nintendo's kid proof design is on full display with this model

The new 2DS XL has a great battery, bright screen, and strong small speakers. If you didn't know already, the new 2DS XL can only play Nintendo DS and 3DS games; there are no other Gameboy cartridge slots as seen on the 3DS. The hard plastic stylus is really small compared to older models, also it is not telescopic. The top screen has a slight wobble by design in order to reduce tension on the hinges while moving around. Wifi antenna inside has a decent range as well. Read full review...

What the Original Nintendo 2DS should have been!

I have been a Nintendo (mainly Pokemon) fanboy since 1997 when I was 5 years old. It's 2017 now and I am 25 years of age and still strong in the Pokemon World. With that said let this review commence.
I originally strayed from the Nintendo 2DS despite the Ridiculously low price tag simply because I could not get over the fact of it not being, foldable and easy to carry in a pocket. Also the style of it was ugly as Nintendo probably thought it was targeting only kids that don't care about looks and true efficiency in a product they just want to play games. That I must say the original did OK but this NEW Nintendo 2DS is just to die for! The screens are very HUGE and CLEAR in comparison to its predecessor. I also never cared about 3D on a portable console of this calibur so that's another plus for me and at $149.99 you cannot pass up this console!

Great product, great value, nice to hold, easy to use.

As a young guy, this is my first Nintendo product since the Wii. I'm very pleased. Not only are the controls great, the battery life, and just the game selection overall for the New 3ds, but the New 2ds XL takes it that much farther by reducing costs and the overall weight of the system. Nintendo's 3d is really cool, but the cyan and black color scheme combined with a lighter weight portability really sold me on this. Great for Smash Bros 4, Xenoblade 3d, or just some Picross, there's no limit to the fun you can have on a New 2ds XL.Read full review...

10/10

Description matches pictures perfectly. Some cosmetic scratches on the outside but both screens are clear and clean. Charging port looks just fine, and it functions, haven't played yet but I turned it on and checked out the home menu. Glad I got the original box that it came in as well as the instructions and charger. A good buy! Read full review...

Arrive in time!

Needed a new DS for sac anime. My old 3ds had seen better days, and what cause me to purchase was because the y button did not want to work. There were a few in stock in la, but no time, so this listing is probably the cheapest without having to travel for miles. I was worried i was stuck with the old for anime con.

And also 10 off!! Its 9 more but that seem to cover shipping anyway. Got it during ebay sale i guess. And comes with 2 zelda games, even though i didnt need em.

It play fine, just have to get use to the home button not being in the middle. I was waiting for the feature to cover the catridge, and easy access sd. The ds i had was around when they had those.

I had transferred my files but its odd you need to connect to the net to do this. At least this time, I could transfer all the data, where as the previous ds before where i broke the screen, transfered only my games and no saved data. Was really mad at this, but glad my ds wasnt fully dead or screen broken.

The only thing, plastic seems a bit better then my old ds and lighter, but seems a bit cheap. I feel i can bend the top screen, and if you want to remove the back, it feels like the same plastic backing as my 2ds. But you know thats more on nintendo part on cutting costs low.

Over all enjoying my new ds for buttery smooth gameplay.

Substantial 2ds upgrade

This product was delivered as advertised, brand new in an un-opened box. It's a substantial upgrade to the original 2ds that I had as a kid and the games run a lot better on this newer model. I especially life the bigger screen which is about 80% larger than the the original 2ds model that I was used to. Read full review...

New Nintendo 2DS XL worth the price

Perfect screen size and many games, often cheap, to play on it. The 2DS XL is everything you would want in a portable gaming system and has extreme value to this day. The games range from everything to anything.Read full review...

Childhood Version 2.0

I grew up in the 1980’s and experienced what Nintendo offered. I picked this up for my 6yo. Having Mario Kart pre-installed and having access to Nintendo’s kid friendly download-able games online is a breath of fresh air. The actual unit itself is easy to use and yes, you can set parental controls on this and even turn off WiFi. Hours of non stop fun! Highly recommended.Read full review...

The Best One in the DS Family

Like in the title it's the best in the line of systems: the build is good, buttons feel great, screen is good and it has a vast libary that includes the DS, 3DS, and the few of the New 3DS. The lack of 3D doesn't bother me unless a game heavily relies on it but that's a small bunch. In addition, because there is no 3D the device feels noticeably lighter which makes disorienting at first if you had one with 3D but it goes away soon.

This particularly model has some ups and downs compared to the New 3DS (specifically the XL version).

• Having the SD card slot easily accessible is good (specially if you’re going to mod it later on) even though it’s 3D variant is not super hard to begin with.
• To access the battery is a lot harder than the 3D variant where you take 2 screws off and lift the plate. This might be problematic down the line when replacing and you are a beginner.
• Having the top panel be glossy even not on the screen is not great since the joystick leaves a smush on it when leaving it closed.
• The stylus is criminally small, get another stylus if you have medium or large hands

In the end, easily the best device to play it's vast library besides the og 2DS but want it to feel more like a DS.

Fun but a little pricey for what you get

The graphics for the games themselves are great. But switch over to YouTube and it's terrible. Shouldn't even have the option if the quality is not there. The speaker could be better, but I mostly use my headphones. If the price was better, it would definitely be worth it. But I love that I can fold it up and take it with me anywhere. It's amiibo friendly unlike the prior 2ds. It's definitely fun and I'm glad I bought it. Just wish the price was slightly better for what you get.Read full review...
